i mean i really don't think she's retired, roc nation is probably forming an album based on references as we speak, i think it just kinda goes down to whether rihanna likes these demos and has the time to record them, i hope asap finally dropping gives her some motivation. i hate that it's taking her so long considering she literally doesn't even have to lift a finger if she doesn't want to

Can we be honest about how bad and weird her voice sounds on Lift Me Up and Friend Of Mine? I think a lot of it has to do with the terrible vocal engineering, but she also sounds like she's straining a lot of Lift Me Up and her head voice on Friend Of Mine is... interesting to say the least.

I thought she sounded the best and the most "normal" on Born Again, but the end of the song is a mess.

Honestly I'm kinda scared about how her vocals are gonna sound on the new music (and live ). The European/Asian and Oceanian legs of the Diamonds World Tour and The Monster Tour + The Concert for Valor and Rock in Rio 2015 were her peak vocally imo (and overall). Some of my fave performances:

I still don't see her releasing in 2026. ANTI 10 year anniversary can carry her through the year if she wants to properly celebrate it.

I've been loving these performances recently:

I really felt her confidence and passion for music like never before in 2015.

I think the straining in LMU was more of a style choice while FOM is just bad and shouldn't exist 😂 I think she sounds good on Anyone but I do wonder what her voice will sound like live if and when we hear it again.

The way I completely forgot about Anyone. I think she sounds the worst on that one, super robotic and strain-y.
