I like that Normani’s team doesn’t resort to payola bc when it wears off you can tell look at all the payola fueled artists from 2018-2019 like Cardi, Camila, Khalid, Shawn, Billie they fell off -99%. Normani’s career isn’t pushed to the high heavens but she will be a LEGEND and a pop girl that everyone looks up to bc she backs it up even Fair is a good song. She has a good ear for hits.

Payola levels the playing field.

If Chloe or Tinashe had bigger budgets aka more payola for radio and playlists they would have some kind of hits too

2 On got massive rhythmic radio play and urban radio support. That's how hits usually work.

Most artists can't sustain commercial success without it. Once someone goes viral organically they get payola (or a bigger budget if that sounds more pc).

  • I love how after years of disappointments and lies some fans still get angry at someone questioning this girl's career choices   and please stop pushing this "you want her to do generic pop

I'm sorry but I can't stand that flip flop flipping ass bxtch Zach.   Any who. The hype was dead they said. Nobody cared they said. The engagement will never be like it was with Motivation t

I’d like for the Fair slander to cease. People love talking about WS’s production as if it’s not OIAM recreated. Fair is one of her best produced/written songs and y’all only dislike it because it wasn’t a hit.

The usual people in her circle have been throwing hints but I’m not expecting anything until she says something.

I fully expect it to be August 26 with a VMA performance on the 28th. If it’s not, well idk what to tell y’all.

Does anyone think that yesterday was an [[inexpensive]] promo tactic before a release?

And she deliberately called on the weird social media energy towards her yesterday to make headlines?

Normani is clearly doing something right that she surpassed Beyonces debut single.

We can compare Normani, Tinashe and Chloe all we want but only one of them is releasing albums (with quality tracks on them) and it ain't either of the label signed ones.

This Motivation inspired Shein outfit :rip:  Normani missed big time not making merch of this

Its the way folks act like she hasn’t had any impact. Heres to hoping CP and it’s pending release date comes with Merch and a Website update. :alexz2:

And I just went to check her website. Why does she even have a Merch tab? :toofunny2:

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody hears it, does it make a sound?

In other words, the only way I've heard a Tinashe song in the past 3 years is when Calvin slapped Normani on the credits. What song did Tinashe's last album produce that was better or more listened to than even Fair?:deadbanana4:

Listen, I agree with the fact that artists releasing music no matter how slept on they are is admirable and it counts for something. I get that. However, the original point was that Normani is more electric and gets more attention around her releases despite being flawed in her timing/consistency.

ETA: Tinashe Incorporated doesn't have to answer to shareholders like Columbia and RCA do. There is no expected return on investment for Tinashe. She can release underpromoted albums that a few thousand people will listen to and there are no label execs hoping each of her releases is another Love Lies or at least a Motivation in terms or return. They are in different lanes commercially but acting like Normani is not more electric and commercially successful with just a few releases is an obvious fallacy. Tinahse was signed and collaborating for longer than Normani. Yet Normani has 6x the career hits before one solo album. That's hilarious when you think about it. Since Tinashe never had the success of a Work From Home, a Love Lies, A DWAS, she can get away with flopping in style. She has no proof of concept. A top 25 collab 10 years ago has been her ceiling whereas Normani's ceiling so far is singing on multiplatinum hits with Fifth Harmony, co-writing on two top tens as a soloist, a top 15, a top 40, and this all before a full-length solo project. If Normani released an album and it did Joyride Numbers or worse, 333 or Songs For You numbers she would become the new Tinashe.  Tinashe can afford to release duds no one will hear. Normani can't. Just look at the backlash against Fair.

Hun, I'm very sure lots of people listen to Tinashe. Even without a hit, Songs For You was probably one of the most acclaimed albums of its year. Tinashe has a big cult following, she ain't meant for the GP. Normani has hits, she's known and she's def the most known out of the three. But they all excel at things the others don't. Simple as that. They're all big in their own ways. Tinashe is not slept on in any way, that's why she's still capable of releasing albums and the most important: Tour by herself. This has gotten off topic, so I'll no longer keep this going. This is Normani's base, and as of now, Normani has nothing.

If Normani released an album

:rip:

Sean Bankhead just got back to LA this morning and is doing rehearsals.

Based on history, this is either for Lil Nas X or Normani. If it was for Latto, he would do it in Atlanta where she lives, like all her other live performances.

If Normani is about to make something happen, she’s going to start teasing next week (or someone in her circle will). They have to rollout a song and performance slot so, they can’t wait until the absolute last week (i hope :eli:).

Tommy Brown just teased her music. He produced Candy Paint (among several other songs for her). We're moving! I really hope we get it on Aug 19th, let it build momentum for the performance (that's if we're getting anything :toofunny3:)

Assuming that pic was last night or today (people on twitter say the nails are the same as another recent pic of her), Normani has braids in which means maybe performance rehearsals? :eli:

It's clear *something* is coming at some point in the next few months but my goodness, why couldn't have they just released something earlier in the year :rip: They wasted hype from a hit AGAIN

It's unbelievable

Whatever comes next HAS GOT TO come with the album announcement with a FIRM date. And a club/theatre tour shortly after. She cannot afford another false start.
