So the fact Lydia is openly being clear about HER GOALS for Normani and even revealing a lil of how she will accomplish them is major. She's done it before with Coco and Doja so it's not some secret krabby patty formula. Lydia has proven success.

Y'all gotta stop downplaying everything. Based on the story we have now, you can put it together and realize Normani took step back because her parents were sick but her old management sabotaged TF out of her so album 1 was set up to have a choppy release months maybe years in advance.

Lydia and Normani cleaned it up and now a proper era can be constructed (as long as they secure the budgets for various things).

I wish she could've performed on AGT as well and not just assist Simon. But I'm still happy with more exposure and the performances she has been doing. I wonder what the next big gig will be

I SAY THIS ALL OF THE TIME!!! and it's most CERTAINLY because she's a black woman and people don't have empathy for black women. the vitriol and hate she gets when its OBVIOUS behind the scenes issues as well as her own personal stuff and people just get so angry with her?! a part of it (to me) is them hoping to write her off because she was definitely set to be the biggest star of 5H. the motivation run and everything around it was major and people were threatened idc.

Yup, Normani is rarely afforded grace online. People just default to anger despite the fact Normani did nothing actually wrong or bad lol. Normani never been one of the artists we gotta "cancel" weekly for stuff.

Anyways, Lydia is a good manager when an era is actually going (based on her track record). My one red flag is nobody really knows why she stopped managing Coco Jones, not that long after they got the grammy.

People are associating manager with success. Doja and coco where who they are because of who they are lol..manager is there to HELP. If you notice both doja and coco are HUSTLERS ….very SELF motivated. Especially Doja that girl had a strong vision and knew exactly what she wanted. Both artist are engaging and are automatically themselves not afraid of their flaws. Sometimes y'all just don't want to be honest

I wouldn't worry about a big gig….focus on the music …finding her lane …who she is as an artist. Engaging with her fans and audience. Being authentic etc ….skipping the important parts

I only say I wonder what her next big gig is since she was on the show and as someone who is a big fan. Of course it's about the music and building herself, but fans can also be excited and look forward to what's ahead especially since there were a lot of delays and cancellations in the past. Love to see the girl on any stage

Also lots of discourse online somewhere saying there are reports shes going to do this next era independent. Based on what Lydia was saying I doubt that they're holding up all this timing to just eventually launch indie. The way they're describing it, they at least need a distro deal to get her to the top of stuff and funding. The music videos she envisions etc absolutely take more than an indie budget. I could be wrong and I do just want new music from her period HOWEVERR - I do think she'd benefit from a new label system and the sentiment Lydia talking about everything being aligned does check out

It's been obvious for a while she was independent. After the news she was no longer with rca there was no announcement she was signed to a label and yet she was in the studio. An announcement of new label comes before studio because paper work has to be signed before they are gonna pay for studio time. This happened when she first signed with rca ..you heard the announcement and even a video of her singing and THEN you started seeing her in studio.

My guess this was a MUTUAL separation because nobody was happy with the performance of the music on BOTH sides. And getting signed to a new label in this financial climate is hard. So independent seems like the path for her

i don't think she's independent though. khris riddick tynes just came up off a hit like folded lol. i just think maybe they're still shopping for a label or it's been kept under wraps which is easy to do when it comes to a label. i think the announcement will come once the music and rollout is finalized.
