I'm not babying her if what there saying is true allegedly RCA hasn't paid/criedit everyone that worked on the album there trying get everything done legally so that let's me to believe that she can't really perform her songs just yet because they gotta get all that paperwork done so even if she does promote on her social media, I don't think it will  accomplish that much of a difference Her main strength is her ability to captivate people visually and if she can't do that, it's like what's the point of keep posting on socials and making edits/content of my songs when I know my fans wanna see the visuals and performances but I can't get provide that yet

If she can't release any MV or performances because of legal reasons she def has to use her socials because the era can't be frozen. The content can count as visuals, it's better than nothing. And where is this theory coming from? I don't understand

Normani's mama has stepped into the ring now too.

ALL of this should have been a couple of phone calls.

Anyways, I'm team Tayla on this.

Tayla is an industry vet and stays out of mess. If she's saying they did bad business, I'm inclined to believe based on her record vs theirs.

Normani's team messed up the whole album release, they were taking songs off and putting them back on up to a few days before release. That's probably why Tayla got 0 info on it since Insomnia was on, then off, then on the album again. Also, it's why we got no physical albums or vinyls.

The only artist who doesn't give those "heads up, we're using your song on the album" calls is Beyonce because she does a lot of surprise releases and being on her projects is an honor/huge visibility. The lack of transparency from Normani's team caused this, it's not Tayla's responsibility to figure out what is going on since it isn't her album, label, or anything. Writers, producers, engineers, etc. have the least notification and knowledge of these business side things.

Spoiler

Once again, I can't escape the feeling Normani's team and circle continue to push her like she's Beyonce instead of a proper new artist or her own entity. New management, same issues.

The fact I can stay off ATRL for a week or more, come back, and still the era hasn't moved anywhere is a BIG issue. Just more drama every week instead. :bird:

I hope those 12k numbers are marking her realize she is faaaaar from Beyonce type of fame, but her disappearing act makes me think she doesn't

I don't think Normani thinks she is Beyonce at all. I think it's the opposite. I think she says she cares but she clearly doesn't care that much which is why she will always do the disappearing act

I don't care what anyone says, this remains one of the best albums of 2024. It's a shame, though, because so many songs have the potential to be huge hits if they were given the same push and promotion as traditional singles.

At some point, it seems like fans want more for Normani. Chloe, despite releasing bomb after bomb, she remains hungry and is everywhere, eager for success - posting performances and going live on Instagram to sing and perform.

There's artists with clearly less budget than her who are strongly motivated and work harder. Even when Tinashe was signed to RCA and was PUBLICLY beefing with her label and manager she was still booking small venues and dropping mixtapes for her fans. Tbh I gave up on her ever being consistent like her peers when she started hanging out with Ryan Destiny, Kelly and Ciara who are just socialists at this point lol.

@troubledparadise are we getting anything else? Like I thought the era wasn't over. But everything shows to me that she's still in the editing phase. Like what is the purpose of editing the songs now when they are already released? The people who listened to the album said it was good. What else is there to do? I mean the only thing I think would make sense is to wait for the VMA's but nobody's going to even care by then for the mv's. Also, why would RCA wait to release the mv's if there is nothing to really gain from it. Somethings not adding up.

She def think she is a superstar. That's why Lydia called her that in one of her interviews, she called herself « rnb pop star diva ». So she def cares. All this disappearing act is just frustration because as promo she wanted big shows she used to go on with her ex band and in the early ages of her career such as Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and she is aiming for a VMA slot.

She think a superstar is big stages/ visuals / big choreo and that it. Hell no. Look at Taylor Swift and how she is bestie with her fanbase, she hears her fans and gives them what they want. Normani ignores crucial things such as connecting with her fanbase and embodying her music, and focuses on big stages and high choreo.

If she is searching for a way to build a strong fanbase, she doesn't need to go far, Fifth Harmony. The covers on Youtube/ the shows on malls / the awsomeness TV videos / talking to fans on socials, this all helped Fifth Harmony to build a strong fanbase.

I'm glad her team makes her so IRL promotion because social media is good but not enough, people outside of the stan world don't know Normani like that. That's why she went to the club the other day and they played her music, same for the barbecue thing.

She frustrates me so much, she has potential, was in a popular group, had big opportunities coming out of it and all of this is going to waste

What were all the updates made to the album besides the lyrics change in Still?

I think it was only Still, if you don't count Candy Paint being different from the single version. I saw someone on twitter saying 1:59 had a change but I don't notice any

One or two ad-libs by the end. They are barely noticeable because they come right after an existing ad-lib.

Would I be insane to ask for a deluxe? Maybe a tour?

I'm sorry but I still think they should drop visuals. If it was a video being held by a strict non performing vocalist type artist maybe understandable but her strength is her performances and visual style. How do you expect an artist to perform well if you're holding back visuals for their DEBUT? Come on

@WheresJay I know you're in hiding but can you tell us anything about anything that seems to be happening behind the scenes. Like is this girl even trying to do any promoting of this album. Is she thinking of touring; even a performance of any kind. Like can you tell us why she hasn't been more active? Anything?

Im looking at her insta comments and I am asking myself how can there be so much disconnect between you and your fanbase and how can you make the experience of staning you so « suffering ». Normani / Lydia, they don't see this ?

This whole rollout is very disastrous but I wasn't expecting much more than just an album and that's what we got so there's barely any disappoint on my side lol. Haven't been on ATRL in a while but it's sad coming back seeing nothing has changed and fans are left unsatisfied.

We don't really know what's really going on or if there's really anything going on behind the scenes but I gotta admit on the part saying Normani herself isn't showing much motivation in promoting her music. The lack of social media presence really is the worst part for me, she should be doing insta lives, tiktok videos with her songs, be on twitter showing off her personality ( cuz it's good we know it, she's very funny and laid back ) etc... but she's just simply not doing any of these things which is kinda sad because the album really could have done good if it reached a bigger audience.

It's something that really doesn't make any sense to me. She literally could easily be an artist on a Tare MCrae and Chapelle arian level (which is sade within itself because these girls came out after her). But that just goes to show you that if you push a little harder and suck it up. Your hard work pays off. I'm thinking either something is going on with Brandon S. because if you noticed that after she mentioned the management issue she's been radio silent. But even with a Libel/Defamation on the table she should be allowed to voice her opinion. I think she's been so careful on how she approaches things but Brandon and S10 shouldn't be one of them. If he did spend the debut money on his own promotion and that of his artists outside of Normani then she should be able to say that. She needs to learn closed mouth don't get fed. If you want to let your audience know what's up with you; let them.

i've been saying this for the longest, i just dislike how we as normani stans/fans are always left in the dark. iwith the announcement of the album being in february, i was hoping that the team would have more prepared (especially with the album being released 4 months later).

with that being said, i still have hope that she and the team can turn the dopamine era around, it's only been a month of the album's release. maybe a candy paint mv and performance? idk, but i know that i'll still be fully supporting mani regardless.

Using a deluxe edition to relaunch the era wouldn't be the worst idea :gaycat2:

Ergo, that's what they're NOT gonna do. :gaycat2:

At least she isn't desperately pandering to the gays and releasing just any disjointed mess.

Normani has the career she deserves so I don't know why people feel bad for her about this era. She is never the problem but others are, when her non social media presence shows she has no hunger. Then people will make videos about why isn't she a main pop girl… She's been telling since 2019 this album was worth the wait when I don't know whose worse, this era or when she used to release singles without any date for the album? She is so terrible at handling an era omg.

She doesn't seem like the type to really hustle and promote without big stages or opportunities being booked for her by her team…which is why I don't she could ever be an independent artist

I feel like she's either an amazing liar or there is still a chance visuals are coming. She seemed pretty sure about a tour too
