It's like when someone doesn't want to talk to you anymore, but instead of being honest about how they feel, they just start acting cold and eventually ghost you, hoping you'll take the hint and leave them alone. I feel like ever since she met her fiancé and her parents got sick, she's kind of lost her spark. And honestly, I don't blame her. I'd probably do the same if I had a rich boyfriend who treated me right and wanted to make me his wife. Her parents are getting older, and she probably just wants them to be around for when she starts a family.

I don't think age is a problem anymore at least if you don't "look" too old, if you're active on social media, if you cater to gen z or if your discography is IMMACULATE like Caroline Polacheck who's almost 40. Normani like she said, has an old soul so she acts like a 40 something and her debut album besides being good wasn't exceptional. She's also against being an industry puppet who makes pop music so she's not marketable to her higher ups.

Sorry for being rude but she fr has not shown growth since her 5h days and she's 28 ? I get that we all have problems and mental health issues but come on now if this job makes you so miserable just quit ? Part of growing up is also accepting that some work environment or relationships are not meant for you and are bringing you down. Get out of your comfort zone and find something that is meant for you. For example she's very eloquent she can become a full time actress or a tv host.

All she does is lurk omg if you're not going to talk to your fans and tell them what is actually going on then why haven't you deleted Twitter already? You said it gives you anxiety but you're always searching your names and it gives you even more stress and you start delaying and canceling stuff and it's the same cycle every year. She needs a therapist or to just leave the industry if she's forever going to act like a victim.

There's no way people think RCA payed entire filming crews, stylists and choreographers to film 4 music videos just to pass time and they never planned to release them… Like is this really the narrative we're going with ?

I agree with everything you said besides performances. She could ask Lydia to book small stages if she really wanted to since her album dropped in the summer and they are tons of festivals happening rn.

The thing is she will never be transparent because in her head she needs to have this perfect image and her being vulnerable and admitting that she has severe anxiety and maybe some insecurities is torture to her. Which is not good because people think she's lazy or hate being a singer when she's probably daydreaming about where she could've been if she didn't sabotage herself. Like I said earlier it's all in her head I read a book years ago about different style of parenting and Normani fitted all the characteristics of a child with overprotective parents/mother (I invite you to read some studies about this). So unless she starts working on herself things will never change and her fans need to accept that or leave. Cause you'll be reminiscing and talking about her potential for years the same way Zayns fans are doing still.

It's really sad but I peeped that a long time ago. I thought she would outgrew this phase after going solo but she absolutely has shown no growth… everything is in her head and unless she starts acknowledging her problem and starts working on it nothing will change.

I can't blame her fans because her parents started this conspiracy with their cryptic tweets about the music industry trying to end her. The whole self victimization, self sabotage and fear to step out of her comfort zone is the result of overprotective parenting. She's almost 30 and her mom is still talking for her so her fans act the same way with her. The truth is that Normani has a lot of anxiety and hate going out of her comfort zone. Which is why she's traumatized by the 5H experience and is now surrounded by yes men who will never challenge her to do something she doesn't like.

There's artists with clearly less budget than her who are strongly motivated and work harder. Even when Tinashe was signed to RCA and was PUBLICLY beefing with her label and manager she was still booking small venues and dropping mixtapes for her fans. Tbh I gave up on her ever being consistent like her peers when she started hanging out with Ryan Destiny, Kelly and Ciara who are just socialists at this point lol.

Do artists have to pay a large some of money to go on tour or get booked for festivals ? Cause I usually see independent and smaller artists with less budget than her promote their projects this way instead of trying to get booked for awards shows and talking shows. And I agree about her not catering to a rnb audience, her public is not watching jimmy fallon, the vmas or Zach Sang. Instead her team should've sent her on the Jennifer Hudson show, the soul train award, the Tiny Desk and the Essence festival.
  14. I'm so glad you're saying that because she and her fans say her voice fit rnb better but I think she sounds beautiful on pop and dance records. For example, If It Ain't Me with Dua, Slow Down and Dancing With A Stranger

Nation SWORE this rollout was well planned and we had to trust the "process" 😭 From the 2 months wait to get the first single, to the single choice, to her being nonchalant… The gaslighting was crazy
  16. Riaas replied to URBAN's topic in Base
Are you referring to this ?
  17. Riaas replied to URBAN's topic in Base
I love this song so much I'm sad it's not gonna be on the album
  18. Riaas replied to URBAN's topic in Base
Honestly, consistency is the key especially now that she's mostly making rnb music. She needs to put out projects constantly and perform everywhere not just for big awards but also festivals. This is how the gp will connect to her music.
  19. Riaas replied to URBAN's topic in Base
It's always been the problem with her career…People wouldn't be so hard on her and have high expectations if she didn't wait so long to release music. Just be honest with your fans if your label is so bad, release an ep or even a mixtape make music for the art not the charts lol But to be an indie artist you actually have to put yourself out there, promote yourself and not be scared of failure. And as we can see this is not the case for Mrs Motivation

This is the mindset to have. I'm just ready for the album and for this conversation and "era" to be done honestly

The song is good not better than Wild Side but I could see it doing well if they send it to radio.
  22. Riaas replied to URBAN's topic in Base
WE SEE EACH OTHER the songs you just named are exactly what I want from her. Probably why I hated Fair 😐
  23. This is basically me lmao
  24. I didn't like the Fair snippet and hated the song. This snippet is cute it's generic but it has potential to turn into something else like Wild Side.
  25. Riaas replied to URBAN's topic in Base
We will never get the Motivation hype (not talking about the gp but the fb) and rollout ever again I fear. The cute concept, the website, YouTube leaking the mv lol, celebrities sharing reposting the song… At least we're getting the Doja collab soon I'm really excited about that.
