Yeah I think because she's a dancer people beg for uptempos and are re-writing history as if that is her most successful lane aside from one song. I love me an uptempo but Normani just fits SO well in a Midtempo Groove. 

 

Regardless, I love everything she puts out and I know when she will deliver, she is VERY intentional which is why I don't absolve her from the release problems. She knows what she's doing for better or for worse

If the album is coming late May, I can totally see them releasing a MV with it too and I'd bet my money the damn uptempo will be the one with it. Everyone will be happy. It could totally be Candy Paint, considering there is sorta of a promotion starting to happen for it too.

The Candy Paint agenda would start taking off before 1:59 even drops.

 

 

I really want it be a single so I'm not mad at this. Also, the quotes are saying they need to come up with a simpler dance, but I disagree. If she does end up making this a single, that choreo needs to be more complicated than anything she's done. Make people dance again Normani! 

yea there is no coincidence that they started the candy paint dance challenge now which means it has to come after "1:59" as their plan.

Interesting that the album is tentatively scheduled for three weeks after the single. I thought they'd give 1:59 a little more time to grow first, but I'm not complaining at all. I just hope there is a plan to keep us fans entertained while we wait and have an actual promo blitz during single and album release.

I wouldn't say so. Normani isn't catering to the "pop" audience with this release so we can't really compare her to Taylor or Dua tbh.

YUP!!! if my sister is gonna give aaliyah, i want AALIYAH. sleek, sexy but obviously music we can still dance to. i always knew thats the route she was going and i can't wait to see it all plan out.

 

"candy paint" taking off seems very strategic and i'm not mad at it, AT ALL. i been had faith in normani's team and lydia was responsible for "planet her" doing so well so i been knew mani was gonna be okay.
