What's your creative process like?

"It starts with a feeling and I’m very visual from the beginning to end…I think my main goal is just focusing on being able to outdo myself and really just be in competition with myself."

 

How do headphones fit into this process?

"I have to hear every layer of everything. I wanna hear harmonies. I wanna hear every bit of instrumentation. It’s the best way to listen to a record, especially if it’s noise cancelling."

 

Lastly, what advice would you give your younger self?

“You got this, you are enough, stop overthinking. It's deep but it's not that deep. You have all the tools that you need to reach your full potential and to step into what God has called you to do and what's for you is for you, trust that.”

Doesn’t Spotify prefer a few weeks notice to pitch the song to playlists and get pre-saves?

The rumor wasn’t bts….it was another kpop group that Jonas brother collaborated with and that song didn’t do well

Her upcoming connection to Supreme Boi/K-Pop world is interesting and makes sense. K-Pop is very dance oriented. There should be a crossover of fans.

Going by my limited, outsider knowledge, I think about the music landscape right now. I see SZA flourishing (she's putting out a Deluxe with 10 new songs, wow), but her brand seems to be chill/relaxed songs and sentimental... Her brand is not the exciting dance stuff that Normani puts out...

 

I haven't listened to Beyonce's Renaissance, but I have heard Break My Soul and Cuff It. They are nice upbeat dance songs but this aesthetic is not like Wild Side or Candy Paint at all, wouldn't you all agree?
