No new news - sorry - just bumping this thread because I had a music related thought. (I hate bumping thread when no news; I know people are hoping for needs) To anyone into music production or into instrumentals, Do you notice how minimal/simple Normani's music is, sonically? There is a pad (background sound), drums, and her vocals: Lights Out, Still, All Yours, etc. They all share that style there's no strumming instruments like guitar. The songs are very clean, simple, and of course a mood/vibe I call Normani's music "pretty girl" music because that is her image and sound, but her music also sounds like it's from the future because of how simple and clean it is Im very curious what Round 2 of music sounds like

Summer Walker had a bunch of features in her upcoming release and my eyes were scanning for Mani's name. Nothing. I really look forward to Round 2 of music when that day comes.

Back in pandemic, when I found out Normani was making the album that was to be 90s RnB inspired, I always imagined her creating something like So Into You also, I was on hating a little on Tyla back in this thread, but does Bliss make anyone think of Mani? Do y'all see the 5H/JB pics on her IG? Always visually striking and stunning She always feels next level and gives me the vibes of what K-Pop tries to make their idols out to be. But Mani is really intense im also fascinated how her team takes a bunch of nice photos for her IG. It's like this is it's own product to serve to fans or potential fans

Visually, does anyone find Fifth Harmony strange? Dinah is much taller than the girls, and Ally is the shortest one. No visual cohesion, that's all I can see when I look at them. It's nice a treat if you're a Harmonizer, but is Jonas Brothers demographic even the same demographic that likes songs like WFH? I am still patiently waiting for a longer snippet of that May 31 song.

Out of curiosity, but is anyone else hoping for a longer preview of that snippet she posted on her Instagram on May 31? A wise member here said to not hold your breath, until she gives an actual date on something. I agree. Still, it's one of my most anticipated things and we haven't even truly heard what the song sounds like. I just like the melody and how it sounds dark. When I first stumbled upon it, I thought wow another moody, dark song that she pulled out from her vault. She is sonically consistent.

Maybe this is obvious to everyone else, and maybe all celebrities are like this but I notice every time she posts a tiktok or new IG post … it is "special" by that, I mean it's never the same outfit twice and it's always a look that is presented to us. It's like these bites of social media from her are pieces of art, in a way.

Ive been playing that tiny snippet over and over; I hope it lives up to what I'm hyping it to be. As I've said, My guess is that it's a HARV produced song. I was listening to Mariah's new song (also by HARV), and it makes me think we're in an era of simple instrumental but strong emphasis on crisp and ear-pleasing vocals. On a random note, I listen to K-Pop but it doesn't seem like their world does the beautiful vocal stacking, layers, and ad libs like Mani's music has. Their music world doesn't care about that, which I find odd, since I think the use of the voice like this is one of the best parts of music.

I love how moody and dark it sounds - We know this is her specialty - I am imagining visuals to this type of sound. It may either be a sexy song (like 1:59, Wild Side, Lights On) or sad, in your feelings type of song (Fair) As I said before, I have a good guess that HARV produced it, since he does a lot of her songs and the drums sound like that of Fair

@Flare thank you for sharing that something might be coming next month. That's a good sign and sounds probable I have no news to share, but want to fan over the potential new song. I just have a gut feeling it's a sad or in your feelings type song, based on the snippet. I know I shouldn't glorify breadcrumbs but there's like a 1-sec clip on her IG where it's just maybe the background of the instrumental. I like how they teased crumbs like that, because you appreciate the different aspects of the song. In that 1-sec, you can appreciate the tone or vibe. A song is only 3 min, you don't want to give too much away too soon. Amazing that we haven't heard vocals or lyrics yet. i look forward to it because I bet it's going to be a very polished song, with interesting melodies and ad libs. it might be the "title track" of the deluxe, in the way that Ariana's Twilight Zone is for her deluxe

I saw a post recognizing Dopamine being out for a year, on PopBase on X/Twitter. Someone on her team must've paid for that and wanted to spark interest. So something is clearly brewing. Hopefully this week we get something, or sometime this month. I don't mean to get anyone's hopes up. But honestly, we are here because Mani's music truly excites us. I have a confidence that we are close to the deluxe, why else would she tease a new song

If I may add my 2 cents - the snippet is not reversed. I have played with music making software before, I know what reversed sounds sound like. In the reversed snippet, the drums sound reversed. So I think the original version is the real version, the actual melody. I just do not want you guys expecting something different.

I am really obsessed with the snippet. And that's just the instrumental so far. Now we will get to experience the reveal of the song, piece by piece. I wonder what the vocals sound like or what the lyrics are about. I am guessing the song is produced by HARV, because the drums seem like those of Fair. His songs have a dark and moody quality to them.

Anyone want to share what Normani song popped up on your Spotify Wrapped? Lights On is /that/ song you guys... it was beautiful to hear it in my Wrapped. I really hope it gets the attention and the visuals it deserves. Not sure if anyone cares about these details like I do, but I am still amazed by the ad-libs in the second chorus, it's so unique and darkly beautiful.

If rumor is true, most likely it's Lisa, right? Since Lisa is under RCA too. But I am not sure if it matters if they are on same label or not.

Parris' choreography is good. But I really like Sean and his visual style, how he "creates shapes" with dancers like the below. This was the teaser for Tate's video and it is just a pan shot of her pose. Very Sean. It reminds me of how Wild Side video had that focused moment of Normani on the table. I am guessing Sean is not part of the Dopamine project (I would have love to seen what he would have done with Lights Out) But Parris is a good choice too.

I really like Babymonster's CLIK CLAK. I love YG's outros. You know how Drumstick ice creams have the chocolate nugget at the bottom of the cone? YG's outros are like the musical equivalent. It is a fun surprise. It is enjoyable to hear the switch up, and it is nice that it still sonically matches the main part of the song.

It is nice to see her perform it solo. @Rainy Devil That is so interesting she did Taeyeon's adlibs - but I don't see the adlibs in that Genie video that was posted. It was in that 1:30 sec video? EDIT: Okay, I searched X, and I see the Genie ad libs. Thank you for pointing out, I agree with you it's a lovely surprise. I love seeing her use her voice to its fullest. It is true art.
