Normani should’ve been getting her second album out (and I mean an EP AND debut album should’ve happened long ago). And then from that starting point, develop a more credible body of work. I def don’t put the fault at Normani 100% for being so perfectionist, even though her label probably is to blame for that partially too. Fact is labels nowadays do not want to invest in this (artist development) because unfortunately money speaks way louder, and losing money, is def a no to them. In this industry, you need to take risks, or else you won’t have a chance at striking something right.

Anyway Normani also has management issues. Even if she's hesitant in her music that's no excuse for managerial negligence. A good manager would help overcome these issues in faster than five years.

No one is really releasing music tho it’s not just her. 2022 has been a drought of music releases like I don’t have that much music to listen as I use to … like something is going on with the music industry as a whole bc there’s nothing to listen my playlists are the same songs from years ago bc no one is releasing anything.

What are you going on about? In the past year Adele, Beyoncé, Kendrick, Florence, The Weeknd have released huge projects. This is not an excuse Normani can use lmao

It's over. If "Wild Side" peaking in the Top 15 couldn't get the album out nothing will. She's not going to get another Cardi-sized feature. Calvin Harris is a non-factor in 2022 so that doesn't count. In fact all her past collaborators including Khalid and Sam Smith are now flopping/over. Normani herself already feels like she was part of that mid/late 2010s wave that is now done, considering she came into prominence with Fifth Harmony who peaked in 2015-2016, and then she had her biggest hits with duets in 2018-2019. Like it's been years since those moments. Camila Cabello had a whole career arc with three albums, breakout, decline, and floppage, and is now on The Voice. The other 5H girls are retired. I just don't see how she can possibly get another hit at this point without a miracle. "Fair" being DOA showed she has no hype of her own. Her first solo solo track since Motivation and it didn't even chart on Spotify.

 

I'm afraid that when "Say So" went viral in early 2020 RCA chose Doja as the breakout pop star and that was that. That's when Normani's career seemingly evaporated. It took her a year and a half to release any new music after that and only with a Cardi feature and perhaps only because of the Cardi feature. 

I remember sometime during the summer I posted a prediction in here that we would get Candy Paint but then never get the album. I'm truly gagged that I was actually being more OPTIMISTIC than what ended up happening

I have to hand to her, to keep me interested with not even 6 solos songs is a great deal considering I have ADHD. Congrats, norms.

I think we found an Undercover Familia stan. Fair actually did chart on Spotify, where you really expecting a boring R&B ballad to blow up not even Adele can make ballad hits anymore. You’re absolutely wrong. Lizzo was also part of that 2017-2019 wave so not that doesn’t mean anything and she just won EMMY and no I’m not comparing their careers I’m just proving to wrong about this supposed “2018-2019” wave.
