I saw her last night at the Western Springs outer fields show. She was amazing and the Solar Power stage needs to be seen in a live show to be appreciated.

Fazerdaze and Marlon Williams put on a good show before Lorde arrived. I was too late to catch Riiki Reid.

As you might expect she got some great reviews in the local media.

She takes the stage with Leader of a New Regime as the sun sets over Western Springs, the sky blue and pink, the perfect entrance for an artist whose Solar Power album is so entwined with the wonders of the natural world.

Sweeping through fan favourites Homemade Dynamite and Buzzcut Season, Lorde commands the stage with no shadow of the awkward and brooding teenage girl who first found fame.

She must still be writing.

NME: Lorde, Sløtface, Róisín Murphy lead latest names for Øya Festival 2023

Øya Festival has announced another wave of acts for its 2023, with Lorde confirmed to appear as the Wednesday co-headliner.

https://www.nme.com/news/music/lorde-slotface-roisin-murphy-lead-latest-names-for-oya-festival-2023-3420139

With the addition of Oslo, Lorde now has 5 European summer festivals booked, spread out over about 10 days so far.

9 Aug - Øya Festival, Oslo, Norway.
11 Aug - Boardmasters Festival, Cornwell, UK.
12 Aug - Flow Festival, Helsinki, Finland.
14 Aug - Sziget Festival, Budapest, Hungary.
19 Aug - Paredes De Coura Festival, Portugal.

There was some speculation whether these 2023 European festival shows would be a continuation of the Solar Power era, the start of a new era, or something in between.

"They’re sort of a sp postscript, dna of that show will remain"

her comment on a fan’s Instagram

There was obviously a lot of demand for more Solar Power.

Number of shows for each tour so far.

Melodrama World Tour — 76
Pure Heroine Tour — 78
Solar Power Tour — 72

Never mind, the dog ate her homework she had to get her laptop fixed.

We got the email, although not a lot new.

Spotify URLs

Pure Heroine Extended (one of these should work):
https://open.spotify.com/album/6rnzvZhe3PA57xKcKLRtJ6

https://open.spotify.com/album/5NrFMOprmnMEf4gMnLaHcq

Melodrama (12 track version):

I don't think these were ever removed from Spotify, just hidden from the discography listing.

new version of Mood Ring, dark L4 please

It took 8 years to get "No Better" on Spotify and we're probably never getting an official release of "Sway" or "Precious Metals". I'm not going to be holding my breath waiting for some dark Lunar Power tracks.

Things are going to be quiet for a while.

New Zealand singer Lorde, who has sold over 12 million albums worldwide and over 10 billion streams worldwide, will play her second-ever Irish gig at the festival, which runs from August 4 to 6 at Curraghmore Estate.

In other news, her sister Jerry has graduated Auckland University with a Law degree.

She already had a BA and a BCom.

Ten years since her first live show at Galatos in Auckland, 09 May, 2013.

The venue had a capacity of about 400 people.

Tickets were $25 and sold out in less than 2 minutes.

She did a lot of live performances with school bands and friends prior to 2013, but this was her first live performance as Lorde, performing her own music.

We're really in my least favorite time between albums. Complete silence. But no way she'd come to NYC just for one side gig, so it has to be a return to the studio?

I'm sure she must be working on her album. She has just over two months before her European tour dates.

You never really know, but probably not another Solar Power and probably not PH II or Melodrama II either.

We probably have a lot of the clues.

There were a huge number of clues/hints at the direction that Solar Power would take, beginning with this Marc Maron WTF interview where she talked about liking guitar music (she wasn't a fan of guitar in her early years), and in the interview mentioning some of the artists that would be major influences for Solar Power. Then we got this Billboard cover photoshoot in nature from January 2018, with major folk/cottagecore vibes.

Plus a whole lot more hints along the way that we were getting some sort of acoustic/back to nature theme.

Someone must have have kept a list of all the hints we have for her next album.

Blonde hairs are main clue, but what does it mean. Is hyperpop era incoming? She said she likes Arca and Sophie.

I'm not sure, but remember when she said she was getting closer to writing "big pop" songs again.

https://www.nme.com/en_au/news/music/lorde-says-shes-getting-nearer-to-writing-nothing-but-big-pop-songs-3240142

Does "big pop" mean hyperpop?

But maybe the key here is "again", so she isn't talking about hyperpop. She also said, said she’s “getting nearer” to writing nothing but “bangers” again. Perhaps take it at face value and also consider that she was in the UK in the middle of her tour and could see which songs were getting the best reaction from the audience.

She also did an interview with Ensemble magazine, where she said she was feeling really good about performing again, so if anything, she's thinking about what songs she wants to perform live.

https://www.ensemblemagazine.co.nz/articles/lorde-profile

Blonde hair might be more of a clue about the album theme, but it could just be album visuals, maybe not a clue to the sound.

During the New Zealand leg of the Solar Power Tour, Wellington night 2, she said:

- "I promise we will not wait this long again".

But was she referring to the four years between albums, or the number of years since that last Lorde show in Wellington, which was November 2017 just after the European leg of the Melodrama tour?

When she was in Melbourne, she said a couple of things about what was coming:

- she said couldn’t wait to show us what comes next

- she also stated that the blonde hair will make sense eventually - does anyone have any idea what that might be about?
