I mean I kinda get it as a rehab tour to make her seem normal after the disastrous CHARTDROP era… but god was it kinda miserable.

Honestly Joanne is a cute girl. I like her more than The Fame outside of the singles. I still can't stand A-Nope and Hey Gorl though.

I think it's because she was working on a lot of the ASIB tracks simultaneously (which would explain the sound) while she was lowkey method acting to build the Ally character with Bradley. I don't dislike Joanne at all, but I also think even Gaga was ready to move on from the "stripped back" era by the end of 2016. 

 

it would have worked so much better if she did a classic rock, jazz-piano, or even old-school disco record. 

The Quranne slander here  the only dud in that glorious album are PIss, Griogio Girls and maybe Hey Girl. Sinner's Prayer alone is 11/10.

Sinner's Prayer is actually an outstanding track, I'll give you that. 

The actual Joanne duds are A-Nope and Hey Girl btw 

joanne is a great album but the title track is truly one of her worst songs ever

Even the good songs on Joanne are just "decent" when compared to Gaga's best  imo.

 

songs like John Wayne and Dancin In Circles are good, but compared to her other pop masterpieces they feel sorta dull IMO. 
 

ballads like Million Reasons and Joanne are also solid, but just like above, don't really compare to her best ballads.

 

plus the "bops" of Joanne don't really feel that synergistic with the albums theme. Idk… it's just messy and kinda boring at the same time.

 

artpop is messy but it's at least consistently fun and has some really great moments

Flawfree Godllusion is like one of 3 salvageable songs on there ikyflll……

I personally agree that the more pop songs feel out of place. I always see it more of as a sing-along type of album and I really love songs like Come To Mama, Sinner's Prayer and Grigio Girls.

Another approach could have been changing one song per day, revealing a letter at a time. That would have added some excitement to the process.

 

In their defense, I'm sure they submitted all at once. Spotify and AM just refresh super slowly and inconsistently, so it was always going to be staggered / messy timing.

I think they have been preparing these for the coming announcement, but they underestimate liddos' hunger and got caught red-handed.  

Maybe she'll announce over the weekend at some point. Didn't she announce ROM on a Sunday or something random?
