Looking at this tweet gave me the idea to look at what TOTC has estimated that DWAS's worldwide SPS have been each week since release. Their estimates are as follows: 

• Week one: 339k
• Week two: 403k 
• Week three: 409k 
• Week four: 410k

Adding these figures up, Die with a Smile's WW SPS is estimated to be 1,561,000 units at this point. The US figures are somewhere between 500k-750k SPS units IIRC. I'm unsure of if these figures include Apple Music numbers since those are counted by RIAA and Billboard, but they're not released to the public. The fact that the song has risen in WW units ever since it was released is also insane. I think this is the first time where a Gaga song has smashed when WW SPS units are this visible/easy to track in real time, so it'll be exciting to watch this play out in the future  

 

edit: Here's some estimates for what DWAS's WW SPS would look like at the end of 2024 using different averages: 

• If it averages 200k for the rest of the year: 4,561,000
• If it averages 300k for the rest of the year: 6,061,000
• If it averages 400k for the rest of the year: 7,561,000

 

I'm guessing the final number will fall somewhere between the 300k and 400k estimates. But I can't predict the future. Also DWAS should hit 2 million WW SPS in about 1.5 weeks if it holds at its current rate. And it'll cross 10 million sometime next year. Not bad for almost two decades into her career

Unfortunately the only dance/electronic songs to have reached #1 on the Hot 100 in the last years  have been "Rain On Me" and "Break My Soul". If we count synthpop a couple more, but Gaga's electronic music is too aggressive and gay for a Hot 100 where the only "pop" song to reach #1 this year was Please Please Please.

 

I feel like unless something switches, only a viral song can be a multi-week #1 (or a +10 weeks top 15), no matter the artist...maybe only T.Swift could pull out a hit with a four-on-the-floor dance song, but she doesn't have that in her.

 

So I wouldn't expect for the LG7 lead single to do great. I think she will have a high debut due to months of hype + Die With A Smile + Gaga coming back to her dark pop roots, but sadly radio won't touch it with a stick if it sounds anything like the snippets we have

Unless it's Girlfriend...although the production is kind of left field-ish in the only confirmed snippet we have (the 6 sec one)

 

What's the tracking period for the IFPI charts? Does dwas have a chance for this year's IFPI chart? Miss dwas is showing no signs of slowing down.

I wonder. DWAS is ahead on AM and Spotify (biggest streaming services) and it's bigger on YouTube. I think DWAS is also charting higher on Amazon so where does the extra 6m stream come from?

The actual Apple Music app. I have the app installed on my phone by default but I don't actually have a subscription. Regardless, it'll still let you look at the charts so that's where I check it.
