The closing ceremony makes sense because it's usually done to transition the ceremony to the next host country and city (Los Angeles 2028).

Thomas Jolly, the artistic director of the Paris 2024 Games ceremonies, follows both Gaga and Formichetti on Instagram. Could mean nothing cause we don't know we he followed them, but interesting.

As for Gaga, the next Olympics is going to be in Los Angeles and there usually is a section in the closing ceremony for the next host country to present. In Tokyo 2020, Woodkid performed from Paris. So if there's any truth to it, maybe this is where she can fit.

Thomas Jolly following Nicola makes things very interesting. That should prove they have at least been in talks/communication.

It's worth remembering that Gaga was going to perform at the opening of the Tokyo games too, but because of the pandemic, everything went wrong. 

 

Maybe they just postponed the performance for these games... i think that this is very true.
