Also, the music industry is incredibly different from Hollywood and musicians are a different breed than actors. One is hyperfocused on chart success and quick hits. The other values holistic success and is generally forgiving of flops- just look at all the lashes Margot Robbie got for years for her lack of box office success and where she is now.

 

And actors tend to be, I guess... classier and more focused than a lot of pop musicians. The shenanigans of the rap world and pop music beefs don't fly as much. No one on set wants to work with a jackass or in the middle of drama. There's a bigger level of public dignity, frankly.

In general, I don't get why some of y'all seem obsessed with the idea of Gaga being resented by other people in the industry. If you think it validates her success more, it doesn't. And if that is indeed the case, it'll just make winning industry awards harder since she'd lack peer support, which is vital for the Oscars, SAG, BAFTA, etc.

ACS came after 'Hotel', by that time Sarah Paulson was never nominated for her work in AHS with the Globes (sure with other awards or performances but still), whereas Gaga snatched immediately a Globe with the show Paulson has been since the beginning (with 5 seasons already that time), I haven't said it's 100% the reason but just I wouldn't be surprised either if it was.

 

I personally don't think Gaga is being resented by other people in the industry, I never said that, the contrary, in the last years several people from the industry have always praised her publicly, that is more an OGH narrative, but when it comes to the Sarah Paulson switches argument is a thing I've always discussed in here since back in the day, @The Witch can confirm.

The thing about Adam and Joaquin is that they're both very much no bs people, you can tell they like acting but don't care for the interviews, the fake conversations, the constant praise / compliments. Meanwhile Gaga is very well in that world and knows how to play the press game. So it should be very interesting to see them interact with each other.

yeah I'm on board with the LG7xJoker2 being an album that coincide with each other on top of the covers already recorded for the movie which will be a separate soundtrack album.

There's too many hints at it being dropped in October

I remember Adam's stans insisting the HOG press run was the most open/comfortable he's ever been. He's a very go to work then home type of actor and I see that being the case for Joaquin too

Adam Driver and Joaquin Phoenix basically have the same annoying personality, so yeah, he probably doesn't like Gaga that much.

It's so funny honestly that some people online love using that LA Times roundtable interview and the "prop drink" soundbite and snarky reaction from her peers as some sort of gotcha moment that she's "embarrassing", "desperate" or whatever

 

In the end, with every single memorable quote she gave, she got the movie the eyeballs, press, and the butts in seats it needed to break even at a time when adult dramas were failing left and right so who really won? I remember weeks after HoG was released, when MGM was putting her and only her for interviews to promote the film and nobody else. Film/stan twitter can stay mad, Gaga's star power, acute understanding of the media landscape and using it to her own advantage remains her biggest USP as an A-list BISMS.
