I'm somewhat an ARTPOP detractor, but that was one of my favorite career moves by her ever. Aura would have been a polarizing bomb with racist accusations of burqa appropriation. Gypsy felt more suited as a second or third single to sustain the era, not launch the era. Venus and G.U.Y. are maybe the only other songs that would have smashed and served Applause's longevity.
