WB better go all out for its promo, I want Gaga on every promo spot possible, especially the YouTube channel ones that she never did like Hot One, Lie Detector etc. etc.. 

at least we have Warner Bros again, whom can throughly campaign properly unlike MGM

Alaia was beautiful, but it wasn't really a stand out, the gloves were controversial.

 

The McQueen was kinda safe, and the hip thing wasn't my cup of tea, Brandon was very Brandon. Imagine... My favorite is the white one from 2016

 

 

She for sure has better options, but at the end of the day, it's what makes her feel good and her choice.

The thing is that if she had been part of the campaign/promo cycle, the movie would have been received better by the Academy. I mean, she didn't even attend the global premiere. HMH would have been win competitive, but she truly didn't give a f+ck this time around. Not even a video talking about the movie/song. Nothing.

I hope she doesn't do a lot of promo or press for Joker just because people (including fans) were mean to her by essentially making fun of her and her process. I don't want her to give them what they are expecting. I hope she says the same basic things for every interview.

The only way one of her joker 2 interviews don't go viral is if she decides to do the same she did with HMH promo (do nothing).

She is a superstar, all her movies are an EVENT and this is one of the biggest CBM.  So everything she says is going to be everywhere. Even if she decides to tone it down, people will think she is campaigning hard. I mean this season a lot of actors said stuff similar to gaga and nobody mocked them. Austin is one of them and he is literally the frontrunner right now    So we must be strong in 2024, especially if the movie has mixed reviews. 

She made the right decision. To perform and then lose would look bad. Now she can lose and not performing looks like she doesn't really care that much. Rihanna is going to all that trouble and then lose to something called Naatu Naatu.

 

If she wins though she did it without even performing. Only Gaga.

Could be then. Regardless, I see HMH as a distant third here, possibly even fourth. I previously thought it had a shot, but there's been no real campaign and not much love for it here. It feels like an afterthought

I think the delay of the movie impacted how they were going to attack the awards season. This was supposed to coincide with the year HoG was campaigning, so that would have been an easier two-in-one campaign. Although I think it would still be little campaigning since she wants the focus on BA.

And I think we learn not to complain now  Some wanted her to ditch ASIB to film The Cure MV, only for ASIB to succeed. Let's hope it happens again.

There was a point where it became a spoiler when most thought they'd award Black Panther via Angela Bassett, and that's enough. Now, Marvel's reputation is at the pits, so they might reward it now for lesser categories such as BOS, if nothing at all. I'm still hoping TGM does a name-check win like they do with Bond films.

I thought the same, but I see Angela as a real contender for supporting that they may not care to check it off in Song. If anything, they'll use song as a way to reward NN since it didn't show up anywhere else. And Top Gun is likely to get love elsewhere as well. 

 

Honestly, Gaga's best bet would be if her name was on the ballot, but unfortunately it's not.

This is interesting bc I thought the same, but I saw earlier in one of those secret ballots that he won't vote for her specifically bc she's in a Marvel movie.  I'm starting to think some people might have that same thoughts. And since the Oscar is still too white, I bet they will allow a 3/4 POC actors winning, especially Jei Mi Li becoming a viable option to them recently
