Well you're doing this speech at the wrong person, I follow Oscars, awards and movies long before being a Gaga stan (that I am since 2008), my opinion on that movie and performance are regardless being the competition, I don't have problems to praise other contenders and the competition like for example 'Parallel Mothers' and Penelope Cruz this year, but at the same time I don't let critics or film twitter letting me being influenced about overrated ones. Honestly, I saw a more hateful-problematic behaviour from certain pundits and "movie" people also on forums that started to hate on HOG even before the release, rather than monsters being problematic, majority of Gaga stans were just predicting or aiming for a nomination, I rarely saw entitled people claiming Gaga needed to win 100%. Let's be real, a lot of people thought ASIB was a fluke and that time, aside from the usual OGHs, Gaga was embraced by pundits and film twitter in general because the expectations for the movie were low (even from her same fanbase) and she was a revelation. Gaga confirming to be a talented movie star with box office power on a second try really drove a lot of people mad about her this year, starting from the good result at the box office and the NYFCC win, especially when more overhyped movies in the same genre like 'King Richard', 'Nightmare Alley', 'Licorice Pizza', 'Belfast', ecc, were are all box office flops and even a high budget acclaimed musical directed by Steven Spielberg couldn't do what HOG did at the box office (it grossed only the half of HOG).
