Yeah, no more musicals please.. 3 music-heavy movies out of 4 would be just too much.

I also think it'd be good for her to do something less serious this time. Doesn't need to be a romcom, but a little less emotionally taxing. (HOG had some comedic elements which was nice.)

Romcom with Chris Evans

wake up babes it's time for your Beyonce media propaganda & brainwashing

I don't buy that film rumor btw, it came from that infamous insider who has been wrong many times, their sources are hit and miss. Isn't Gaga producing film with Michael? I would like to see what that is about instead.

I feel like I have the same attachment to Joanne as y'all do with Chromatica, it was the perfect album at a time where I was dealing with the death of my father and then grandfather a year later

I feel like she put so much sincerity in that album and never understood why the same tired people made fun of her simply because THEY didn't bother to understand the meaning of the album and what she was doing

I defend it alot but I feel like it gets so much undeserved hate. I always see people saying Chromatica gets hate but it's very mild compared to Joanne

I mean what are the choices for high profile white middle age female singers? Kinda wish they changed it to a young female character so Gaga can be freed from typecast like this, they can cast Sabrina/Ariana that way.

Actresses like Viola Davis and Michelle Yeoh have achieved great critical and commercial success as actual middle age actresses. Godga is only 38, she has a lot more options than we think.

Ohhh, this was one of my all-time favorite movies, at one point.

My friend in the biz just spotted Lady Gaga having a low-key meeting with director Damien Chazelle (of La La Land fame) about a possible The Purple Rose of Cairo remake (yes, the 1985 movie!). It's super hush-hush and still in the early stages, but apparently it's very much in play behind the scenes. Word is they're already tweaking the script — hearing talk of an updated setting and maybe even some musical numbers (because Gaga, of course). No firm timeline yet, but they're eyeing filming around mid-2026 if it all comes together. Unconfirmed, but this tea is piping hot!

Hoping this isn't true simply because the incels are going to riot over another musical movie

And also I'd like a movie where she isn't attached to a man :suburban:

I don't mean her, I mean for the film. That film needs someone like that, and Gaga is an obvious choice. I hope she turn it down tho.

Gaga and Chazelle would literally be a collapse like I hope this is real:jonny5:

There are TONS of genres of movies she can go into, 38 isn't old in Hollywood in the way it is for pop music. That's why it's so awesome she made the pivot successfully, it'll add a lot of longevity to her mainstream success.

It'd be a shame if she locked herself into musical type movies. Not that I believe this rumor anyway, sounds like a load of BS..

If actressGa's gonna return, smaller roles are needed for redemption. Wednesday S2 and hopefully the rumors about The Last of Us are true is a good start... but another lead role with musical pieces is exactly where she should stay away from, at least until she's in a good movie with no singing. I get the theatre kids like to encompass all but let us trust Michael to steer the ship a bit here

No incels are watching that film, what? This isn't a superhero movie.

Talking about studio, WB has just torched another 200M budget this year with that Mickey bomb.

She'll have a curveball and announce she's working on a documentary about wildlife trafficking, co-directed with Michael Polansky

Seems like Gaga needs to do some studios shopping this time. She's gotta be selective, we can't afford another bomb that becomes the go-to joke during awards season.

Was it good? Or was it one of those '80s campy style movies?

have y'all ever thought that she might be attracted to these music based movies bc she's interested in and likes them? Whatever ATRL user GagaQueenSlay6969 says about her being in an erotic horror thriller from NEON means nothing and is just fanfiction

Kind of getting Whiplash™  from the idea of her transitioning back to another jazz musical, though :dies: Hopefully LG8 will happen first *huffs copium*
