According to Oscars stats, they are not like Grammys, aside from rare exceptions they tend to not give multiple awards easily to the same person, especially in close intervals of time, narratives also play a factor in how Academy members vote. Gaga having 2 BOS Oscars will make her first woman to achieve that (I don't recall other women having two) and at a young age, somehow that will put the acting members in the disposition to favorite actors who have never won or being nominated over her that will be seen as somebody who has already being rewarded twice. It basically happened this year already.

Tea. The Oscars are quite diplomatic, so this narrative that a 2nd BOS win is inevitable for her (when in reality it's unprecedented) is going to result in another Oscar season of Liddos with egg on their faces. 

 

A Best Original Score win would be a more interesting achievement at this point. Then she can win a Best Make-Up & Hairstyling Oscar for J:FAD in 2025.

This is the tea. The Oscars are really snubby, so another "snub" would only build her narrative for an acting Oscar.

A best original score nomination is a long shot but that would be the real victory next year, and just the nomination of course (also for the same acting argument), a dream.

Idk it depends on the competition also, but right now i think she could have a shot if Joker 2 is really good.

Everybody would want that scenario of course but things work different, they're not really "theories" but how the Academy works if you know the stats.

 

We already had a taste this year of that, Gaga was supposed to be IN also this year and I mean just for a nomination and look what happened and I don't know if it has discussed in here, but Gaga BA snub this year was unprecedent with her accolades, nobody with a trifecta win (the NYFCC that she won) + all the major precursors (Globe, SAG + SAG ensemble, BAFTA, CCs) has been snubbed in Best actress before her, it was an unprecedent scenario.

Nah. It’s gonna take years imo. Ask Saoirse Ronan, Amy Adams, Bradley, and tons of other respected actors. 

 

I even believe a second BA nom will take a long time too. It’s just how it works. Jessica Chastain last nomination before winning this year was in 2013, for example.

The point of my post was another, she broke a stat in negative, not in positive, that means that the Academy doesn't see her as somebody undeniable to be  recognized even if all the precursors do, that is why it's better having low expectations and no thinking that they will give to her other Oscars very easily, this is my point.

That being said, if she wins another BOS + BA in the next 5 years I will be the first to celebrate that, trust me, but for how things work that sounds unrealistic, I'd love to be proven wrong.

Anyways, too much PTSD talking about the Oscars again.  Let's remain humble this time. 

Oscars are so snubby... the HoG snub should be a stark reminder of that.

Just glad Miss Colman got her back to back love from the Academy when BAFTAs dropped her after her win.

If Gaga’s acting is undeniable, she can win BA even with 2 BOS wins. 
Look at Frances McDormand. She is a 4 time Academy Award winner and won 3 of them between 2018-2021.

The BOS category has evolved. If today’s standards were used in the past, Madonna would be a two time BOS winner for You Must Love Me (1996) and Sooner or Later (1990). Woman were never properly credited as song writers back then. Now in 2022, artists like Beyoncé get nominated as a song writer and in 2015 Gaga got nominated with only 10% writing credits. 
 

Hold My Hand is an undeniable front runner for BOS. Based on three factors. 1. Lack of meaningful competition. 2. The academy loves to award giant ballads 3. The song is attached to a hugely successful movie that will have multiple nominations at the ceremony. 
She could definitely lose to a niche song from a Best Picture nominated movie. Like how How Far Will I Go and Can’t Stop the Feeling lost to City of Stars. But as of right now, Hold My Hand is the song to beat. We still have 6 months to go and most Best Picture nominated movies will come out in the Fall and Winter 

Ugh... this Oscar talk... I hope EEAAO snatches.

 

If Gar gets nominated, good... If she gets snub, not a total loss.

The BAFTA are even more elitary than Oscars indeed, the fact Gaga got in and with the jury system with HOG and again with her second role is something extremely impressive that should be underlined more often.

Nah different situation i think, she only needs the movie to be good (Best picture nominated at least) and she'll have a shot imo.

The way I screamed when Gar got in BAFTA for HOG that I 100% really thought she was a shoe-in for a nom.

 

But yeah... Poor Denzel Washington, I don't know why they have a vendetta against him.
