djkfhgjdhfgjhjdfhg and on the second day of press for BIBO she was already complaining it was too much work and it was too early  she's hilarious, she really doesn't understand that selling 40k first week and going top 5 was a huge deal and did amazing considering the album had no hits and little to no promo at all. maybe she refers to the album as a flop because its the first one without any sort of certification from RIAA. but still, a great body of work. the second half is my favorite part 

This new era also marks Hilary's first without Andre Recke by her side. I wonder if he is to blame for BIBOs downfall behind the scenes, resulting in her lack of confidence/discouragement to continue on with the era as well as her hesitancy to commit to making HD6 under Scooter Braun in 2016?

this is soooo true. there were a lot of wrong decisions from the beginning in my opinion, like CTS being the comeback single that killed all the buzz that she had  it underperformed and it rushed them to release AAY which also fl*pped – then the album that was scheduled to be released in october 2014 was postponed and we had no date, there was ALSO a tour section on her website where you could vote for your city. then in early 2015 she recorded the first half of bibo (maybe the label kinda forced her? told her to?). maybe by the time she released sparks was already disconnected from the project because most of the songs that she had worked on were scrapped. and in 2015 the little gigs that she had scheduled like performing at the house blues in houston were abruptly cancelled with no explanation given (i think i dont remember one or her speaking about it) i'm gonna blame andre for all of it! 

Reading her ig post feels like something's coming. And I love how she cherishes BIBO, it's such a great album.

 

Hope she can do what her heart truly feels for the next album/project. As much as I love the pop songs in BIBO I would have loved the folky one too. Might have flopped harder but Hilary would have been much prouder of that.

 

If only All About You at least became a decent hit! Still a great song.

This is true and is why I think he will guide her through the ins and outs of being an independent artist. She's been hard done by 2 major labels in the past that I can't foresee her wanting to try that route again. As long as she has a good manager and a solid team behind her at CAA who can network in the necessary areas (primarily social media and streaming), she is set.  

We may get something sooner than later. She's recording stuff from over 10 months probably, and within the last month a lot of things started to happen:

 

August 2nd, 2024 - posted two pictures from a studio. 
October 10th, 2024 - started following Lil Tecca and he followed her back. 
January 17th, 2025 - shared a picture from a studio.

May 11th, 2025 - Matthew's mother's day post about "save millennial pop music". 

May 12th, 2025 - Spotify verified.

May 13th, 2025 - Signs with CAA.
June 2nd, 2025 - Wished happy birthday to Matthew with a picture of both of them in the studio.

June 12th, 2025 - BI.BO. 10th anniversary hinting "next time".

The wheels are definitely in motion and have been since Mother's Day! I originally thought she would have a single ready to go to commemorate BIBO's 10 year anniversary, but she instead chose to subtly confirm that her return to music is happening in the near future instead. I do think she's working on an album, but won't speak about it until she and her team see the reception of the first single. If it performs to or above expectation with the right line of rollout (TikTok, playlisting), I think the album will follow relatively soon after it. She's always been an album seller, so it is only logical that moving album units once it's available for pre-order is where the heavy focus should be. However, to get to that stage, the first single needs to be a glorified banger to reintroduce her to the musical landscape that pulls casual pop listeners in on top of her main demographic, as well as appeasing to the TikTok generation to better her chances of getting a viral moment/song on the platform. 

I don't k know why she sees BIBO as not a major success… I think she forgot that after such a long break she only lost some of her fans. It's hard to Stan someone who has 0 projects in music for years. She's not Adele who's work fans and GP will always check out. Some ex-fans came back to check out Hilary's comeback because of nostalgia. But re-starting your musical career means you need to get new fans. You need to re-build your fanbase. I can imagine that the next album shortly after BIBO could have higher numbers, more success but sadly she stopped once again for another 10 years. You cannot expect that after such long breaks you will be doing amazing numbers. I will always support her in music but I'm afraid she's not going to outdo BIBOs success.

I don't mean this in a rude way, but I think you're overthinking it a bit. You're not wrong at all, but I wouldn't look too much into that comment of hers; I don't think she cares much at all tbh, nor held much weight behind adding that part?

Oh no worries. You can say whatever you want and/or disagree with me, I'm ok with having different opinions etc. and maybe you're even right. 

I don't know, I'm just curious what was the plan with her recording songs shortly after BiBO came out. I think they planned another record but maybe because of the not amazing enough success, they scrapped the projekt and that was it

She was 100% planning to release more music after BIBO. Not sure if was related to RCA still, but she fired Andre, hired SB, he put her on Jam's soundtrack right after that, and she was teasing snippets from the recording studio. Maybe the shooting schedule for Younger got in the way, or maybe other things behind the scene changed her plans.

I think there were a multitude of reasons that resulted in the demise of the original HD6, which isn't a huge miss as she only recorded 3 songs for the project before scrapping it and abandoning her music career for a second time. The campaign for BIBO literally fell apart the week after it's release for reasons we never found out, resulting in her having zero passion to want to do anything with the album post-release, she was off and on again with Mike for a while, then navigating her personal life as a single mother, etc, so I can only assume that she was experiencing some emotional trauma and couldn't find the joy in being a pop star during a major transitional and turbulent time in her life. When she parted ways with Andre and signed with Scooter, I'm sure he had big plans to push her as a musician and is why she was back in the studio by Spring of 2016 but the stars just didn't align...which in hindsight is probably a blessing given all that's come out about Scooter over the last couple of years.

Right? Even though her name still appears on SBprojects website as one of their artists.

Like she was asked to post about it and tease a return to music on the 10th anniversary so she just scraped together some old pics and basically told us it was a difficult time for her during this period. Not to mention she couldn't have been more tuned out during its release

Breathe in breathe out  introduced her to Matt since rca made her work with him  so of course it's gonna get love 

 

if she had gotten a divorce there would be no post 

 

I don't think Hilary has ever celebrated an album anniversary to be honest 

 

I think the only time was on twitter in 2014 for dignity probably cuz she had signed with rca and was getting ready to drop new music 

 

I would kill for a most wanted anniversary in August but knowing her we will get nothing

I wouldn't expect Hilary to acknowledge it, especially when she's admitted to that era being a very unhappy period of her life, but it would be cute if Hollywood Records released a 20th anniversary edition of the album that included the very few outtakes left on the cutting room floor. Given they did nothing to commemorate Metamorphosis or self-titled, I doubt anything will happen for Most Wanted.
