I also really love Jolene segment. The run from Jolene to Levii's Jeans is so good.

that segment unfortunately got cut after night 1. now tyrant, thique, and levi's jeans is with the buckiin section, and jolene thru cuff it is in the truck stop section. i preferred the night 1 setlist but i know im in the minority

I went to night one of CC at MetLife and it made me think about how I got my dick sucked at Renaissance Kansas City and this tour was so wholesome in comparison. Barely smelled any weed!

I'm obsessed with that little dance she does after every refrain at the beginning of Jolene. When I saw that opening night, I was like oh that knee is healed :lmao:

Also, the way she riffs "love you down to the bone" repeatedly as Levii's slowly ends is so :smitten:

I'm honestly a little confused about some of the musical direction complaints I've seen on here because I feel like she really did a wonderful job translating the entire album into this live setting. All the new arrangements augment the studio versions beautifully, and that doesn't even account for the spectacular staging. It doesn't always have to be a full Homecoming-esque rework to be deemed a good arrangement.

You know complaining is like foreplay for them in here. Gets them wet

going to put some honest thoughts bout the show last night, if ur going to be mean don't open it :eli:

Spoiler

it was butt cold and wet and that probably explains it but the crowd was definitely a little more tepid than any other Bey show I've been too imo. Sure it was still plenty lively but I remember Formation and Renny to be particularly livelier. not her fault ofc

I think the rain also may have caused an issue with the screen, maybe(??) There were parts where the audio / screen were noticeably off sync and it threw me off for a bit lol but idk if thats been a reoccurring issue on the tour

as someone who's vocally loathed CC, it did make me a bit sad how energy dropped on some of its songs last night. Maybe I sat next to locals, but my general section of the stadium was significantly quieter ex. Alligator tears, just for fun, etc. Even bodyguard should've created more hype - even I know and love that one!

the lighting on the CC tour is the best of her career and so sick; seeing how much better the Renny opening trio of songs looked last night showed how much better lighting was. that's not even mentioning having the screened stage too (which lowkey bordered on tired but she controlled it). she also utilized the stage much better than I think any tour she's ever done bar Formation

I've seen some people complain about it but the section with her flying around on the horseshoe between/during songs etc was sick and I didn't get tired of it at all. I wish daddy lessons was longer that was so nasty :jonny2:

Heated, If I were a boy, and TYRANT(!!!) woah :jonny2: i need that gold bull in my house asap

Okay I'm gonna get yelled at im sorry  the CC tour interludes / visuals might be better output in a vaccum but they didn't add to the show experience as much as the Renny ones. On the Renny tour everything just felt so immersive and set up the next sections of the set list so damn well. I fear on CC some of the interludes felt like long, beautiful movie-ads as we waited for the next act of the show.

she's set the standard so high and basically nobody else is giving better shows right now. she swung for the fences on this tour as she should but for me: Renny > Formation > OTR > CC

I always appreciate honesty.

My take on your take lol...

Spoiler

My show is coming up, but your take is pretty much aligned with what I've seen and feel about the show from the livestreams and videos.

CC is a Lemonade to me. But not the in the way some of y'all worship Lemonade lol. They are basically albums that I know mean a lot to her discography, brand, and legacy, but aren't where a lot of the material I love lives (although Bodyguard, Tyrant, and Jolene are amongs some of my fave recent songs of hers).

With that, I knew there would be an energy lull when she performed some of the more album-track-esque songs from CC. Her doing them in such a block doesn't help either.

I could have told her for free that the GP would not be going up for no damn Blackbird, Alligator Tears, Desert Eagle, Just for Fun back-to-back. I'm a big believer in two things can be true at once. Those songs are qualitative and add a lot to CC, but are dreary af to even think of performing lol.

IMO, she coulda left some of those off and instead made a huge spectacle out of the major attraction songs on CC while spotlighting her wider catalog. She's done that somewhat with YaYa, Jolene, Tyrant, but Bodyguard could and should feel bigger live. Same with Levii's and Riiverdance.

My take: Sell your tickets and free us from the redundant takes.

Like you already made up your mind and concluded already before going...so what is the point of you actually going? So you can come back in here and say the same with but with 383848 more paragraphs.

You're trying to get your lick back after getting called on your own random run of ultra defensive posts a week or so ago lol.

No one is selling their ticket.

Again, several things can be true at once.

I take great pride in NOT being Kiss Ass Hive.

So, I can all at once love a lot of what I've seen of the CC tour (which I do)...while equally having notes.

"Notes" are what had the good sis switch up that setlist from night 1 and added hits etc, so I think a little healthy critique is totally fine.

A week ago? the way i didn't even notice or care about that.

Being COMPLAINING ass HIVE is no better than KISS ass hive.

And doing it with 3738844 paragraphs ain't any better.

Won't go back and forth.

But I'd like to think that, stan or no stan, all of us establish a degree of expectation when parting with our hard earned $$$ to go to a show.

I love Bey down, but I'm not about to be so be so tangled in wonderment and idolization that I put aside my wants and expectations and feedback in the name of the artist serving me anything subpar or reeking of "area for improvement".

Again, if Critical Hive is what got her to tweak the setlist for CCT and got her moving/dancing way more on RWT as it progressed, then I'm happy to be in that camp.

That said, I call it reasonable, rational, and pragmatic Hive more than anything. And she's all the more better because of it.

Do we think the tour books are actually going to start shipping next week?

Some of you guys need to realise that people having thoughtful conversation about art is ok. This is a Beyoncé country tour showcasing a country album. This isn't like much of what she's done before and it's interesting to me at least how some stans are struggling to access her vision. Let's all just chill a bit :)

And if you guys can't handle reading a couple of paragraphs then just skip over them.

Like why are we fighting on here - this is a forum where we as fans can engage with Beys work in an honest way and it should be fun!! We're not her PR team and we're not her managers, we just like her!

Does half of the hive know that though?

Anyways… the first NY night costumes were… a choice. The red grew on me, good to see it back but sucks she brought back the ugly tank top. The new fur with sparkles is cute but probably better as a sparkly body suit in the finale given the options at the end.

Lemonade is just a monumental album! Every time I press play on "Pray You Catch Me," I listen to the full album and become enthralled like it's my first listen.
