Isn't part of the reason she won't do anything under the DC name again bc she doesn't want Mathew to profit from it?

From my understanding that's why their last couple of releases have been "Michelle ft. Kelly & Beyoncé" or "Kelly ft. Beyoncé & Michelle".

They definitely wouldn't tour as DC.

Beyoncé loves her father idk where yall come up with this stuff, they simply haven't because that's not where their focus is. Why would Michelle song say ft Destiny's Child? When they're solo artists lol

DC tour never happening, Beyoncé's audience is too global for that

You are 100% right. And I'm surprised more fans don't know about this. I guess it further supports my point that Bey has a lot of stans that jumped on board after her DC days.

I'm an OG DC fan and, in some regards, stan the group just as much as Bey solo.

So, I also clocked that they've been going by their names when collabing rather than DC since the split. It's not a coincidence. It's 200% the Matthew thing. Circumventing his involvement.

Bey loves her dad in his role as…her dad. And even then, it feels like they've only healed their relationship (after the wrong done to her mom and her own professional issues with him) in more recent years.

All that said, he still owns the DC name and is technically, by contract, still the group's manager. And I just don't think that is going to fly for any of the members.

Bey is so autonomous and such a force by herself that involving him in her business affairs again doesn't present as an attractive concept. I think the other members tolerate him nowadays rather than love him. I've definitely read a few "interesting" quotes about "management at the time" that were less than endorsing.

Matty is also cut from the same

cloth as Joe Jackson. So, family or no family, he wouldn't pass up the opportunity for another moment in the sun as their manager or mouthpiece. Just a couple of years ago, he was peddling a DC book, biopic,

memorabilia sale etc. Bey seems to let him say/do whatever because of the knowledge that she won't go into business with him.

So, any DC thing would probably be by their names or rather awkwardly Bey would have to "buy-out" her dad (when in reality he should tastefully agree to step aside…which he probably would not do lol).

In the idealist sense, they'll work it out and he'll function as nothing more than a  consultant. Or better yet, just agree to step back and "let" the girls manage themselves "with the tools I taught them to empower themselves."

This is the first time I've ever heard about this… I thought she was on good terms with Matthew and healed things in their relationship? At least that's what it seemed like when she was thanking him during RWT

It's tea from back in the day so not something I've just come up with. As @Cbreezy said a lot of older hive already knew about this. I remember it from years ago.

It was interesting how when Kelly was interviewed about "You've Changed" she had to make a point to make it 100% clear that it is not a DC song:

Quote

Rowland insisted to Billboard magazine that she didn't want the song to be labeled as a Destiny's Child track, saying: "It's not a Destiny's Child track, it's me featuring Beyoncé and Michelle."

It doesn't mean that Bey and Mathew aren't on good terms, they obviously are. But at the same time it's understandable why she doesn't want him to profit further from her.

Now this bit I am speculating - but I think part of the reason is because putting money in Mathew's pocket is essentially putting money in Alexandra Wright and TaQoya Branscomb's pockets, and Bey ain't about to fund his two BMs aka the women that contributed to the breakup of her parents marriage. :lmao:

I was one of the hive that wanted her to not even attend the Grammys next year bc of them continually playing in her face, but actually now I want her to attend purely bc she has nothing to hide and she doesn't need to shut herself away. I've loved seeing her out and about with a smile on her face at all the various events she's been to in the past few weeks.

Her not going to the Grammys would just be probably the WORST decision, especially after this dumba** Diddy sh*t. These people no longer care about the f*cking victims, and she needs to NOT give them wtf they want.

Which that means continue doing everything she usually does and ignoring tf out of them. And let them sit in their stupidity. I haven't been seeing the controversy that much on my TikTok as of late, and actually people just making fun of it. But that's all because Beyoncé is still gonna continue doing whatever tf she's doing. If she released a statement they're STILL gonna use it against her. At least if she doesn't they all just look ridiculous and they can't twist her words. :deadbanana2:

IDK why this reminded me of some in this thread thinking she'd release the visuals when Rennie went platinum, or hit 1 billion streams on spotify :lmao:

Like Kelly said it's not a Destiny's Child track they're solo artists. Yall (oldhive) are no different from these TikTok-era making up stuff about Bey with no facts. Destiny's Child have not done a tour because that's not their focus they got their own careers which they all have stated

Ok, keep it cute sis lol.

With respect, as "OldHive" the actual difference is that most of us have lived Bey's rise from obscurity to now. Every...single...aspect...and...era. It's not retroactive appreciation. It's a lived reality and a lived knowledge.

I say that to say, as a fan of all of DC members solo, I have verbatim watched interviews where their words about "management" have been clearly indicative of disdain. Specifically Kelly and Michelle. They will always keep it surface-cute because of Bey, but they have both heavily intimated it.

Let's not be obtuse and believe an explanation just because. It's the equivalent of buying Bey's "Queen moves at her own time" or "enjoy the visuals in your mind" when we know for a fact that sis shot (and reshot) a bunch of visuals, pitched films to streamers etc. Like, sometimes scratch beneath the surface, beloved.

When it comes to Bey, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to clock that Mathew was literally out of the picture around the time of the infidelities, Baby Mamas, and the time Wendy Williams was all over the story.

That whole frame also aligns with when Bey let him go, which REPUTABLE entities like Billboard and Hits Daily Double all but confirmed was the result of allegations re unapproved deals and funds that led Bey to let him go in 2011. She's too clean, classy, and PC to ever spill, but the proof is in the pudding. Who lets their manager go just before launching an era. It literally came right before RTW if not during and in many ways points to why the first half of the 4 era was a mess. She was putting her ish back together realtime.

Again, this just makes clear that we all consume/stan Bey differently (which is ok). I don't expect anyone who started realtime stanning her at ST or Lemonade to have full context to stuff "OldHive" know to be fact. It's an unfair expectation. At the same time, conflating tea you don't know as TikTok fodder...doesn't make sense.

The way they literally sprinted and I mean sprinted in that thread.

Very brave of Monsters , they havent learned a thing . Will have a field day when her new Album and single launches

Also, some of us have been here for 25+ years. We're tired.

She thought we were going to rush to the movie theaters a d watch her movie like Taylor. She complete abandoned the audience that put her on.

People can talk smack about Conman Carter all they want and it's poor chart run, but it has Tyrant so whatever.

Like it's so catchy, why hasn't it clicked with the gp? The whole album is phenomenal and yet we're at a commercial low point, it's baffling to say the least.

I'm not baffled that Cowboy Carter is her worst performing album in her career. Truthfully, nobody wanted a country album by her. I'm baffled by the degree of its chart flopping though. Less than 30 weeks is insanity and honestly kinda heartbreaking?

It's not that nobody wanted a country album from her. The album is still very Beyoncé and it just crossed 1,5 billion streams in Spotify, in less time than Renaissance (which is not that impressive considering the amount of tracks, but chart wise those count the same). The problem here is that Cuff It was actually selling the album and CC didn't really work in Apple Music which was her stronger platform.

But she wants us to accept these kind of situations as soon as possible because she doesn't really care about charts and she makes her money from brands and touring, not from sales.
