I do think that there is about 2 days of vinyl sales where fans might have assumed (and for good reason) that the track-list (which barely anyone understood anyway) would be what was on the vinyl, but that doesn't seem entirely like a "scam". It's poorly communicated but the hoopla about it seems excessive. It's messy and stupid, that's about it. I really think had she labelled it exactly as it was, it might have even sold more. We already were going to get the lore about how the album was supposed to come out years ago... I think it's actually precious and rare for Beyoncé ever to have shown us the process like she had by giving us the "first" version. All in all, I'm into it.

The botched vinyl release could've been easily solved if she/Parkwood literally added one more sentence in her store saying that it's the 1st pressing of the vinyl with the original artwork, original tracklist (with some songs missing) and slightly different versions of some songs. That's it. I think they DELIBERATELY left it out, because they wanted to sell out the old stock and make the fans double dip when they eventually release the "Official Vinyl". The reason is entirely financial and writing think pieces trying to justify it won't change that fact.
