I love that Ariana is letting the industry miss her. It was always the smartest thing to do. After releasing albums consecutively in 2018, 2019 and 2020. By the next one (presumably in 2023) she'll be able to say she's had 3 years between albums. It's gone so fast, Positions still feels fairly fresh. She's managed to avoid over-saturation quite well.

POV was barely a single though. It did good for what it was given, it was handled horribly.

Yeah, I wouldn't consider it a single. Had it received a music video, maybe, but US radio only? Nope. It would've been better not to do anything at all with it tbh, this semi single treatment was horrible.

Something's bugging me about the comments on her latest IG posts. They are all verified accounts, but they all seem to be automated. Did she tell them to only say positive comments? She really let all the comments get into her head. I need her to open comments to everyone again, her stans are bored.

Do you want Ariana to be featured in Beyonce's upcoming album? I was kind of expecting her to appear on Drake's latest release, but thankfully she was not as the album seems to be panned (here in ATRL at least).

Of course, Bey x Ari is one of my dream collaborations, but I doubt it's happening.

No, that's something verified accounts do to gain followers from said celebrity's fans

i feel she’s hiding herself from the spotlight and even the fans for herself , and  honestly she deserves it

since we're not getting anything else music related for a long time, i wish she'd actually have somebody edit together her studio footage for a cute little documentary. maybe on positions' two year anniversary or something.

This could’ve been an amazing album cover for an album with futuristic/electronic influences and a space/classy aesthetic but she wasted it on a make up line, and she only posted one picture

Don't get me wrong, her team is great and we shouldn't underrate the work they put in streaming playlisting (which plays a big factor in your recurrent streams), but we also need WAY more than that if they want her music to stand the test of time (among the GP) and/or reach a wider audience and appreciation among different demographies. 

 

Imagine if they used POV in a commercial, it would literally become a classic despite not reaching its full potential during the time it was a single. The only time I remember hearing her single being played on a TV commercial was Side To Side (for T-Mobile back in 2016).

I still don’t understand why POV was so mishandled. I don’t think she’ll want to be singing songs like STS, 7 Rings, 34+35 etc when she’s old & doing residences. She has timeless-sounding music but most of the time those aren’t the singles  They need to consider her legacy too instead of only the Hot 100.

POV, Needy, Honeymoon Avenue & Tattooed Heart all could’ve been hit singles to varying degrees of success. POV & Needy especially, we saw first hand how well received they were as deep cuts.
