Gerardo Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 I do care and am excited about wicked, but if I’m honest I’d rather get music, we need AG7
wantedyoutogrow Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 JLU will end up being her most nominated song
Moonlight Nation Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Hi! I'm a new ATRL user and huge Arianator. I've lurked around here before, and feel honoured to officially join the Ariana Grande base - at long last! I first discovered Ariana's music in early 2014 thanks to a friend who randomly recommended "Right There" to me, and she was kept on my radar until "Break Free" 's release, which converted me into a stan. "My Everything" might be a disjointed playlist with the most hilarious mood whiplashes, but she served so many incredible individual tunes there (shout-out to the incredible deluxe tracks too, including the gorgeous "Cadillac Song" from the Target exclusive), so I have a real soft spot for the album and era. Following her career trajectory and growth as an artist and person has been beyond beautiful to watch. She's such an inspiring person on many levels, not to mention a phenomenal singer. Her vocal layering and harmonization skills are on another level, and I couldn't be more thrilled to hear what else she has in store. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I feel she has yet to craft her magnum opus. My favourite album of hers is definitely "sweetener", as I love the breadth of themes and styles covered (as you can imagine, I am an unapologetic Pharrell defender - he played such a key role in making the album such a unique and fun listening experience). As for her latest release, "positions" is criminally underappreciated, and features several career highlights plus a beautiful overarching narrative of building trust and intimacy in a new relationship while still dealing with past trauma and grief. I really hope it gets a re-evaluation over time. Here is my current top 10 of her discography: breathin Honeymoon Avenue Jason's Song (Gave It Away) needy better off safety net Tattooed Heart ghostin/off the table Touch It Almost Is Never Enough Honourable mentions to "The Way", "You'll Never Know", "Greedy", "Love Me Harder", "My Everything", "successful", "worst behavior", and "everytime". Ugh - so many amazing songs! (on another note, how come we don't have an Ariana gaycat? Her pink/maroon outfit from the sweetener world tour would be so perfect for a custom one)
