Rare falls to #159

Featured Replies

The #1 peaking album by the Rare songstress has now dropped to #159 on the Hot 200 albums chart.  It was released at the start of the year.

For reference let’s look at her peers who have also recently released. Taylor’s Lover is at #37, TUN from Ariana #85, Romance by Camila at #86 and Manic by Halsey at #66.

So, what went wrong? Perhaps her music is too rare for the taste of the GP

And people dared to say that it was a bigger era than Romance :deadbanana2:

It's really rare for someone with her social media stats to do this badly with the product they sell.

If you haven't noticed this era had only one properly pushed single. and it was successful and we're moving on.

Wasn’t Rare pushed :deadbanana2: and it had a re-release

The era came and went, her next era might be a struggle

I can't believe this is the same era which had a #1 debut single :dies:

Not when Romance spent more weeks in the Top 20, currently is higher above it despite the other one coming out later AND having a rerelease :deadbanana2:

Plus in terms of which singles were bigger...

Senorita > LYTLM

Liar > Rare

My Oh My > Boyfriend

It will out due Revival in the end which is what matters. If they pushed a third single, this could have been higher but Boyfriend wasn't even sent to radio.

You’re skipping over all the singles that bomb from Camila!

Not a Selena stan at all, but the comparison should be Shameless Liar with LYTLM, since Señorita was for Shawn’s album and was only tacked on last minute!

OT: yikes!

This is a flop no matter how you try to twist it but she didn't give a **** about the era so no hard feelings.

Eh, 6 months for this album is okay. It had a #1 hit but that's. The rest of the singles didn't even do well.

It did fine. Selena couldn't care less for the album and basically everything was driven by her name alone and the hype left from LYTLM.

Also she had her 1st #1, the album itself went #1, had over a billion streams and it will end up platinum in US after all. It did what it had to be done all things considered.

All the other girls you mentioned did promo + actually cared for their releases. Ariana was on her peak, Taylor is on another league and both Halsey and Camila had tour bundles (something Selena didn't had)

Sis i like Camila too but this ain't true. It was clear that Señorita was added at the last minute to boost Romance's sales and Camila benefited a lot from tour bundles that went for weeks. The singles flopped sans MOM. And the album debuted with less than Rare even with tour bundles.

It wasn't the abysmal tank ATRL makes out to be but also it wasn't completely organic... which is fine though, since her team was smart enough to help her sales. I wish Selena's team was smarter but hey

not you comparing rare to the album that was queen'd by adding the Shawn song and the Dababy pandering/trend hopping/payola'd feature LAST MINUTE to cover the the obvious

Maybe if she reduced to the tactics of other señoritas and attached the five droplets that are on the Target version onto the album it would be doing better and be close to 2x Platinum by now

Not Lover being #37 in its 41st week and yet ATRL tried to convince me it came and went

I think the droplets will count into the album, dont they?

OT: it had a cute debut but lets be honest, it didnt have legs

LYTLM did a great job, rare and boyfriend flopped hard

Oft course....lmao it had not so much promo like the albums of her peers :skull:

Also she don't use her social media like her peers....her team is a mess

Camilas album had Payola but Rare almost no promo ...still feels bigger:clap3:
