I'm low-key rooting for her. It's definitely happening :clap3:

The Weeknd on the other hand :rip: The most undeserving #1 in history?

If Mariah is #1 on Christmas week, she'll probably do 01-OUT the following week, that would be SO iconic. :jonny:

The Weeknd coming for biggest drop from #1 in almost 50 years? :deadbanana2: TRAGIC

ugh, I hope Mariah comes through :jonny4:

She’s better do it! I’m rooting for her. :duca:

Would this count for this decade? I know Billboard dates ahead but would it technically mean she’s had a #1 in the 10s?

The last tracking week of the decade is the one that starts tomorrow. So if it goes #1 this Monday and/or next Monday, that would count for the 2010's, yes. If it also goes #1 the Monday after that (which it might as that includes xmas/xmas eve and is thus the song's strongest week usually), that would also mean she'd have a #1 in the 2020's too. :duca:

The superior song lost.

OT: Congrats to Mariah, peaking after all these years. Legend. :clap3:

would mimi hold the record for a song taking like 24 years to reach #1?

Well, no. The song is 24 years old but it didn’t spend 24 years on the chart nnn

But she might break Macarena record for longest climb to number one (went #1 in 33rd week) All i want for Christmas is 34 wks on the chart , soo, yeah she might have this one in the bag :gaycat1:

A lot of songs have hit number on the hot 100 that were written hundreds of years ago but were covered with new instrumentation.
So Mariah might be entering new territory

Its the exact same 1994 recording tho hihi

So does that mean she has a #1 in the 10s and the 20s?

I mean...I don't know how else to explain it sis. :skull: If she gets the #1 on 12/16 and/or 12/23, she'll have a #1 in the 10's. If she also gets it on 12/30, she'll have one in the 20's too (since the chart date for that week is 01/04).

how did Rocking Around The Christmas Tree outchart othe more current tunes like Last Christmas :rip:

The thing with the predictions is that they can't really take into account the limited signed copies that Mimi sold. Also Rolling Stones Charts have AIWFCIY at #1 with solid number...It's anyones game for the #1...If she doesn't go this week at least she will get a new peak and chart run of 3-2-1-1, which would still be amazing!
