I don't normally rant about awful songs but this song is so crappy that I'm still trying to fathom how anybody thought this was OK, and I need to express how utter SH*T it is. There's a lot of bad pop and rap songs that deserve to be dragged, but this song in particular takes the cake.

 

First of all, the instrumentation sounds so outdated and basic and is not interesting at all. It's a combination and mix of random synths that do not compliment each other in any respect. The producer spent five minutes putting random sounds together in a basic pattern, made that the entire song, and thought "yep! this is generic enough to make me a few million dollars". The melody is dumb and predictable and does not work in this climate of popular songs anymore. As for the singers, while they all sound like ****, Bebe especially sounds so out of place and annoying, I have no clue what she is saying and solidifies how pointless the song is... she absolutely sounds like Myah during the Britney Jean era during her verse and it is grating to my ears. It's as if a dying cat recorded Bebe's verse for her from a different dimension. Cardi's verse, the last opportunity to make the song a bit interesting, adds nothing to the song. You'd normally get excited to hear the hot new female rapper's verse on a song with 3 other pop stars, but I couldn't have been more bored and disappointed in the drag it is. While the whole verse is obnoxious, for some reason I get extremely irritated when she sloppily chants "saY MY nAamE sAy My NamE sAy My NaMeEe >;]]" ugh. This song is an absolutely travesty that tried to use an 'edgy' theme that is now commonplace in pop and combined awful melodies, singers, instrumentation, lyrics and direction to make an absolute failure of a song that was laughably intended to be commercially successful.

i mean on hot 100, rita doesnt do much there, maybe itll chart eventually but i doubt longevity. mayhaps on the UK charts tho.

 

I like Bebe but I wish they kept it Rita, Raye & Charli. I loved that live version. this one tho i listened to it for about a week until i removed it from my playlist bc i got kinda tiredt of it..

Rita is cursed in the US
