As of 15-20 minutes ago, they now have 18 of the Top 100 on ITunes. Live Pop Bars classifies Linkin Park as Alternative instead of Rock. Not only is Linkin Park surging ahead in sales, which LP dominated over other Rock artists, but also on YouTube. Numb is #5 (+283), In The End is #6 (+433), and a ton of other LP songs have debuted further down on the chart. LP always streamed way above average for the Rock format on ODS, so LP will likely light up Spotify on the the ODS charts a little later today.

 

Now I wonder whether or not stations which had dropped Heavy will bring it back now. I know it'll get a huge bounce not for the small part of the week counted Thursday, but also for much of this week too. In The End peaked at #2 weekly on the Hot 100 in 2002 (airplay only, no sales), and was actually the #2 song on Top 40 radio that year, behind another Rock Song, How You Remind Me by Nickelback (#1 Hot 100 2002). Yes, at one time T 40 really rocked. Now it just pops.....

In The End hit #2 on the Hot 100 for one week in 2002. I'm afraid, even if the news had hit this morning (Friday), LP still couldn't overtake Despacito. I'm waiting to checking out Spotify later today, and the impact will probably be even larger on tomorrow's (Saturday) chart. LP will get a few songs back on the Hot 100 this coming week, but many more on the following chart. Maybe ITE can at least get to #1 non-combined, but I don't want to hold my breath either.

 

Six kids don't have their Dad now, and there were so many signs that there was trouble -- alcohol & drug addictions, severe depression, discussions of suicide due to sexual abuse as a child, and losing one of his best friends Chris Cornell to suicide. The album won't flop now, but this isn't the way the band wanted to see it succeed.

The difference is that the pop boys are currently smashing on radio so the discount actually has a big effect (all of them being top 10). When will pop girls tbh
