HITS' YTD Album Chart 2026: Wallen #1. Ella #2. Noah #3.
More than Mayhem's 2025 total (where it couldn't even make the top 15 during its release year even with the emergency tacked on DWAS) after Taylor already sold 5.6 million in 2025.
- TD passes ...BOMT in CSPC units. Does this mean Katy peak > Britney peak?

Olivia Rodrigo uses her armpit sweat to fix hair
I really don't care what she does with her pit sweat, but major this. This place is more and more like a snark sub, especially for the digital era girls. If Taylor/Bey/Gaga did this it would be a 30 page thread. I'm sure Olivia will inevitably get her turn, but the cycle is so exhausting and dumb.

BB200: Showgirl #1x14, Taylor's 100th week at #1 | H100: Patient Zero #1x2, Drake #5
As that Chart Data list demonstrates, this longevity record is very 20th century favored. Showgirl has spent more weeks at number 1 than Gaga and Bey's entire discographies. I don't think Taylor is in danger lmao.

This meltdown. The songs you're calling "global smashes" definitely call into question your judgement on this question lmao. Like, can we be serious? YDMC was a solid hit, but FTBOMBH? A "massive global smash"? Some Teenage Dream singles are more relevant 10+ years later than those songs were in the 90s. Aside from the lead, I'm not sure you could consider any of the other tracks bigger than the 8 Teenage Dream singles Britney makes one appearance in the most streamed songs from the 90s top 1,000 at 30 with BOMT so time has also not been kind, even relative to contemporaries. Teenage Dream, meanwhile, generated some of the biggest hits of its time AND they have fantastic longevity 10+ years later. Teenage Dream is clearly bigger than BOMT. Britney's peak is clearly bigger than Katy's. Also no need to bring Taylor into it whose career and peak is orders of magnitude bigger than Britney's (and it will always be 23/24 as acknowledged by the entire industry no matter how badly you want to apply arbitrary stipulations). She even passed her in pure sales despite no other digital era artists getting remotely close to those legacy numbers. Also not relevant to this thread.

You're arguing with yourself here, girl. Same as your exchange with @byzantium . I didn't say Katy's peak was bigger than Britney's. Peak is a different but still nebulous conversation. Teenage Dream has continued to chart and add enormous units outside the years it was actually her focus album. But I think you are just showcasing your own delusion if you try to say BOMT is bigger than Teenage Dream as an album. As others have said, Britney only has the pure sales in the first place because people wanted the single. Katy's volume of huge smashes is much more significant than one mega smash and a couple of cute hits. Teenage Dream is definitely a bigger album than BOMT and I'd even say it should've passed it sooner if the calculations were truly accurate.

BB200: Showgirl #1x14, Taylor's 100th week at #1 | H100: Patient Zero #1x2, Drake #5
I don't think this is true. It's silly to take longevity like Taylor's for granted. I'm sure he will add more weeks, but 57+ weeks is an extremely tall order. Considerably more than his entire total ATP. Taylor has achieved this by remaining the biggest star in the world while also building an extremely loyal, large fanbase. Morgan Wallen gives me Ed Sheeran vibes. When the hits stop rolling, I don't see him effortlessly staying number 1 for many weeks.

Most of these all-timers are 20th century acts. Taylor more than doubling Drake. Actual Taylor peers Gaga and Beyoncé getting reasonably close to sliding below 1/10 Taylor's total. This is an insane achievement no matter how you slice it.

Kinda surprised by the comments in here . Yes, I do think Teenage Dream, an album that generated 7 genuine smashes is bigger than BOMT. I actually think it beautifully demonstrates how pure sales will always be advantaged in these comparisons. How you measure "peak" is another story, but I think Teenage Dream is absolutely bigger than BOMT as an album.- Most-searched female artists of 2026 worldwide [Full top 25]

How it feels to listen to Patient Zero on the way home from the liquor store to host friends with the windows down without an ugly ATRLer calling it slop in your ear.- Spotify | Taylor Swift - Patient Zero | Day 17: #15(-8) WW (2.395m), #7(-3) US (721k)
Girl, Taylor is currently number 1 in the USA with a solo song, something your fave hasn't sniffed since 2011. You're dragging a performance that you would beg for from a solo deluxe track from Gaga. Gaga had a whole Netflix campaign with The Dead Dance and couldn't even get a top 10. The song is performing quite well. Utterly demolishing any similar delude tracks.- Hot 100 | Early look (10/24/26): Patient Zero #1 (x3), Dracula #5, Nicole Kidman #7
Considering the fact that 7 are diamond eligible in the USA, one is 9X, and 5 are greater than 5X platinum eligible, I fear we are just saying things. The other 3 are Opalite (2025, 5X next year), IKI,IKY (2026), and the one that's two weeks old btw. When she finally updates her single certs, instantly becoming the best selling artist in history, y'all are gonna lose it.- Hot 100 | Early look (10/24/26): Patient Zero #1 (x3), Dracula #5, Nicole Kidman #7
I really have no problem with this. You have a principled, consistent stance. It's the obsessive haters who adjust how they feel based on how Taylor is performing. If Billboard modified the rules, Taylor would still have no trouble gaining number 1s. Ophelia would've logged 6-8 weeks from streaming alone, and I don't think anyone is advocating for completely removing sales. IKI,IKY and PZ would've gone number 1 from streaming alone, too. Maybe the rule change would be a good thing, but it's hard to say. So many components to how songs chart. Then you have things like playlisting, autoplay, and passive listening with streaming. It's always been difficult to measure what makes a "real hit." You see people displaying totally incoherent views on this constantly. Somehow, Abracadabra is a hit, but Opalite is not, for instance. Other MPGs would suffer far worse consequences from new rules targeting physical sales and alternate versions than Taylor, though.- Hot 100 | Early look (10/24/26): Patient Zero #1 (x3), Dracula #5, Nicole Kidman #7
IKI,IKY was not bombing on other streaming services. It's eligible for 2X platinum in the USA and relatively close to the total units of HTIMYLM and drop dead. I believe it currently has more units in the USA than Olivia's other two singles. Taylor spent several weeks in the streaming top 10. I expect Patient Zero will as well. I just checked: IKI,IKY: 2.03 million units HTIMYLM: 2.13 million units drop dead: 2.41 million units stupid song: 1.96 million units the cure: 2.01 million units. IKI,IKY is also still in the streaming songs top 40. Obviously radio was super important to its chart performance, no one is denying that. But it's not like it's some flop in consumption. It took Abracadabra 10 months to reach 2X platinum eligibility in the USA You can be critical of Amazon's passive vs active listening, but IKI,IKY has a similar ratio of streams coming from outside Spotify as many other country hits this year. In many cases, the ratio is more favorable for IKI,IKY. Opalite and Ophelia, Taylor's other number 1s this year, both have excellent consumption in the USA. Taylor will be top 5 on streaming this week and will absolutely obliterate in sales. I don't think that's such a big deal that its going to be number 1.- Hot 100 | Early look (10/24/26): Patient Zero #1 (x3), Dracula #5, Nicole Kidman #7
If you didn't have a problem with drop dead and HTIMYLM's dozen versions, I don't wanna hear **** about Patient Zero which debuted with the biggest points week of the year without a single additional version! Ariana and Olivia were sweating and down to the wire with a much bigger push. Also it's the same people who constantly moan about Taylor's streaming dominance being from playlisting or passive listening despising the fact that she can actually sell physical product. You must pick one to complain about, I fear! All from a surprise deluxe release! Most girls can't even get a top 10 out of that in the streaming era.- Is Gaga's "ARUTW" officially the biggest female non-single in history?
People listening to music they like is inflating numbers? Remember when I asked you to defend the claim that The Fate of Ophelia, potentially the year-end IFPI number 1 that hasn't left the top 50 of Spotify Global in over a year, was a cult inflated hit and you ghosted? Just no logic to ridiculous claims like these and no evidence. Flat Earthers of the stan world. Taylor's streams are never reduced. She had lower filtering daily than most main pop girls. I'm glad you get to be the arbiter of what should count as legitimate numbers. If Swifties could mass stream Taylor into 2 billion streams through some systemic trickery, she wouldn't have any flops. Hate that we forgot to turn on the streaming machines for Elizabeth Taylor. Just like everyone else, aside from KPOP acts who actually have streams deleted, most of Taylor's streams come the GP. OT: ARUTW was a radio single. Gaga's biggest actual non-single isn't even close to entering this conversation. Does anyone even know what it is off the top of their head? Maybe Sour Candy? It is Taylor, Lana, or Olivia. ATW has over 2 billion streams AND a number 1 peak so will probably actually go with that.- Is Gaga's "ARUTW" officially the biggest female non-single in history?

It is so crazy how in 2022 this felt like a total shock. Now it is always expected of her!- Taylor Swift
ATRL needs a major reminder that other streaming services exist aside from Spotify. Olivia was number 1 on Spotify this week in the US, but Taylor did considerably more streaming units.
