  1. Crazy numbers Is this the biggest first week for a non-Taylor/Adele female artist since Lemonade?
  2. I'm also northern European, which may be the reason. Mariah was never huge here except for AIWFCIY and WBT
  3. I am not a normal person when it comes to pop music and I could literally not tell you a single lyric or melody from My All, Honey or Vision of Love Idk if it's also about her success being so heavily US-centric but I just listened to the choruses of those songs and literally never heard of them lol I also think a lot of her catalog is so tied to such a specific era of R&B and vocal-driven pop which contemporary mainstream pop has moved away from while the sound of many of her contemporaries has (in my opinion) stayed closer to sounds that are still revisited/referenced in popular culture EDIT: Honestly no shade to Mariah, nothing against her, and not that I am the ultimate arbitror of whether her hits are remembered, but as a gay man who has hanged out in stan twitter and atrl for a decade with a fascination towards pop music and especially female artists, I feel like me if somebody should be aware of her hits I feel like I have a much better grasp on Celine's and Whitney's catalogs but idk
  4. How is Demi not on this list? I can't believe she'd have less units than Alessia Cara, Ava Max or Anne Marie Also Kesha seems quite low
  5. Yes, I'm sure the executives at Pixar, who most likely contractually dictated the release schedule ages ago, schemed with Taylor to mess with Charli's (and I guess the 1975's?) release schedule
  6. if i was having a 500 people wedding or whatever neither would I
  7. When you compare two people on Google Trends, the highest peak gets set to 100. Taylor's peak is 100. Rihanna's peak is 97. So unless math works differently where you are, Taylor had the bigger peak.
  8. Your own source shows that there was more interest in Taylor at her peak than in Rihanna at her peak in 2011
  9. She trolled everyone so hard She even had a spotify playlist on her page with "love" written in her font and a pink baground, I was certain that was the album title and it was going to be a feel-good love album But honestly I'm even more excited now
  10. Idk what it speaks of me, my intelligence or maturity that I've laughed out loud at every other tesponse to this thread
  11. If it's an internal meeting, yeah, it can get annoying. however, there's nothing I love more than a nonsense, unnecessary meeting with a client especially if I'm not the lead and I get to just sit there and shut up. these are the easiest billable hours
  12. I always find threads like this fascinating because they only really come from one of two places: either a resentment toward a wildly successful woman you'll never meet, whose career has no material impact on your real life, or an understanding that posts like this reliably generate reactions on ATRL and that online engagement fills some need for attention or relevance. Not sure which of those is sadder, but neither is exactly flattering.
  13. Honestly wood would be great if the remix got rid of the post-chorus and second verse and the song became simply about superstitions The first 1 minute and 8 seconds of the song is great
  14. LMAO I first read this as 126 million units certified and I was just thinking there's no way Congrats I guess
  15. Girl if this isn't the most chaotic tour I've ever seen… But truly a WORLD tour I guess
