Their grammys, their record sellings, and her called "success" always feel a bit diluted because yeah, she has that, but does she really has IMPACT? its like only their fans are the ones consuming the product. Taylor seems unable to translate this success to the general public in a shape of impact; it's as if her work is obsessively consumed by a certain number of fans but it doesn't actually achieve a real status. Not surprised AT ALL. This si truly a good album, the references are amazing, specialy coming from a disney channel girl. Im truly surprised, wasnt familiar with Olivias game. Some songs are amazing, everything sound so 2000's indie yet so pop at the same time, it's very well crafted, the artistic and musical vision is so clear. Listening to it felt like being a teenager again and discovering Of Montreal or any other cute indie group. I really liked it and Im so glad she is having success with it cause i think it was a risky move for someone like her.

Overall I think Jlo has had more hits and a longer career than Xtina. But somehow Xtina had more impact in terms of pop culture. Defined a pop decade with Britney. And its actually a better artist than Jlo. Still Jlo wins. I think she managed well to survive along different decades with her singles.

I'm worried about me LOVING the How bad do you want me Requiem version I promise you I loathe the album version. But the Requiem one sounds like an absolute different song. I'm amazed by the excuses and layers Madonna stans come with every time she is doing bad numbers (its been almos 20 years now). This woman cant produce a decent single or a decent piece of work since 2008, which really prove she really has no vision at all as you have always said. She just got the best producers and deals cause she was the it girl. Once she became older nobody wanted to give her the best songs or productions and she just became irrelevant, thats why she is unable to get a decent commercial perfomance since Hard Candy. Im convinced she could put a good album and singles with succes if she had THAT VISION, but it is not happening. To be honest not even her old hits really connect with the GP, look at the spoty numbers, quite miserable compared to her peers. Not a single of their old catalogue touch 1B, not even 800M. Im a big Gaga fan but this is the first lead single im not interested into. The song has no soul and the "dark" thing feels performative to me. I hate to say it but I feel its the first time in her career she is not being truly authentic. I can not find ways to defend it. She really is not very bright picking her lead singles, Stupid Love was also a very mid song, but this one is specially underwhelming. The lack of melody, the lack of a good chorus, the almost parodic Gaga sound ... girl wake up. I LOVE YOU. But its not it. Ps: I'm saying this as an original stan.
