  1. After all these years and they still deliver impressive, sharp choreography! It's especially impressive when you realize that Ashley and Kim are now 44 years old and Nicole is 47. It would be cool if they can sustain some hype to try a few US tour dates later in the year or next year. I'd for sure be there!
  2. And you're the standard for what people are actually listening to? This reply comes across really detached and biased. This girl is a big success, especially with college age (and younger) girls and guys. I live in a smaller midwestern state & the turnout at her concert really put her success into perspective for me. I'd say I'm a decently big Tate fan but I did not expect the entire arena to be screaming lyrics to her album tracks & her earlier songs like they were.. - It was also interesting to see the amount of straight men that came to see her. I guess time will tell but I think she's going to go a lot further as she's continued to grow since she broke through. It won't really matter what people on the internet or this forum say when the numbers are there.
  3. It baffles me why people are acting like Katy Perry is irrelevant just because her new music hasn't performed great. She's literally #25 on Spotify for most streamed artists worldwide.
  4. Honestly, I feel like they'll move more tickets as the shows get closer. I don't think people were rushing to sign-up for pre-sale and drop big bucks on early tickets (aside from major fans), but I do think people will have more interest in going to a summer concert with nostalgic hits as the days creep closer. I'm assuming they'll be able to do some ticket deals too. LiveNation often does those 4-pack Summer Concert ticket promotions for lawn & upper seating to get things moving closer.
  5. Honestly loving them as a trio. I say that as someone who Nicole was always their favorite, but also liked all of the other girls! I think these three have a good dynamic - Ashley & Kimberly always seemed to get along better with Nicole and seem to just accept the way she is. The group has been messy from the start for various reasons. Glad to see they're still staying true to that and this gave me a laugh. Xtina was my first concert - solely for the Pussycat Dolls as openers. I'm so excited to see them again this summer..
  6. This is such a good write up. I'm a Rihanna fan - but anyone who was actually there during her come up and peak should be able to remember the true perception of her music career. She was literally knocking out albums yearly (for a while) because she was so uninvolved in the process. Album sales weren't even stellar for the time - she was more of a singles artist. With that being said, I don't think you have to write and be uber talented to make a good pop star. But I also think there needs to be some self-awareness. At the end of the day, Rihanna was a hit-maker. She didn't have great performance skills, play instruments, or contribute to the writing process on most of her work. Her and her team had an ear for great songs that complimented her unique voice. She's still iconic - just not in the same category as Beyonce or Taylor Swift who each excel in their respective lanes.
  7. I agree! I really like the song but that last chorus needed to be noisier & more dramatic to add some edge. Some production tweaks could've really elevated it.
  8. LM/WHAM were weak singles but I don't think "Lost Your Faith" was a bad choice. I think it could've caught on with more exposure. The "hallelujah" part is instantly recognizable & makes it an ear worm. I've played it so many times at bars on Touch Tunes & I swear everyone vibes to it. The album is solid overall & proves she can still deliver without her previous collaborators. My local record store had only one vinyl in stock that I was fortunately able to purchase.
  9. I guess it depends how you define "hits". She had plenty of moderate/pop radio hits back in the day. The self-titled album had Neon Lights and Really Don't Care (in addition to Heart Attack). I think they felt bigger than they peaked on the Hot 100 (top 40/top 30). A few of her pop collabs also have decent streams. Solo (with Clean Bandit) is over 1 billion. No Promises (with Cheat Codes) is over 700 million. Overall, I feel like Demi, Selena, and Miley all had lots of singles years ago that seemed a lot bigger than they actually peaked.
  10. Aw.. I love "Single Soon".. I feel like it's good for what it is which is a fun summer break-up song.
  11. Ariana has always been a bit more commercially successful with music. Honestly, they're all pulling respectable numbers with how far into their careers they are. A lot of other pop artists would be happy to see their success.
  12. Favorites: "He About To Lose Me" "Trip To Your Heart" "Hold It Against Me" As for singles - I actually think the choices made were pretty solid. I'm not sure what else would've performed well on radio back then as a fifth single. Maybe "(Drop Dead) Beautiful" since it's pretty catchy and Sabi also had that radio hit with Cobra Starship popping off too.
  13. Lol - I’m from Omaha too. Thinking about going just because of how cheap it is! I was a little surprised we were even a stop on the tour.
  14. Boring, overplayed Selena shade. Good question considering Selena, Miley, and Demi didn’t have huge chart peaks and monster hits immediately despite them being massive names. Maybe the fact that Olivia wasn’t known as a major Disney girl benefited her song’s success — the GP kinda wrote off the other Disney pop girls in the beginning because they thought of them as that. Olivia also came out the gates with relationship drama which helped make the song relatable and sell it.
