The age gap has been blurred

I think the bigger issue is there used to be a media-lane designed for that 11-15ish age range, but now there isn't.

Little girls want to be teenagers, teenagers want to be college-girls, and college-girls want to be young adults.

it's a big cycle that starts to get problematic if the "teenage" behavior the little girls are trying to emulate suddenly shifts from Degrassi to Euphoria

There’s no preteen categories anymore, it’s quite sad. Kids go straight from watching Ms. Rachel to watching Love Island

I think it's largely because adults don't "grow up" anymore. They consume the same things they grew up on, like the Disney adults. This is most apparent with millennials, they're kinda stuck in a sen

  • I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with liking things you liked as a child still, but there has come this weird insistence that because you like something, it has artistic merit or shou

I've always thought that it was just imaginary and misled gatekeeping to tell someone they can't consume something just because they're of a certain age. There's a lot that people of all ages can and do enjoy. There's something very everyone. Disney is for people of all ages, for example, just as Walt Disney—himself—intended, "Adults are only kids grown up, anyway."

It's only natural for people who grew up with Harry Potter during their formative years to still have a heavy interest in it. Same thing with Star Wars, Pokémon, Dragon Ball Z, Spongebob Squarepants, etc. And when it comes to comics, they were originally geared towards adults.

And, of course, it just depends on the theme and tone of whatever it is. Cartoons like Harley Quinn and Batman: Caped Crusader are definitely targeted towards adults, with people of all ages being able to enjoy Batman: The Animated Series and The Batman (2004), with Batwheels and DC League of Super-Pets being unapologetically targeted towards younger kids. For example.

There's something for everyone, even if it doesn't seem like it on the surface. Age matters very little when it comes to innocently enjoying and engaging with life. I like to see people have a good time. What harm is there in that?

I know 6 year olds who watch FNAF and Stranger Thingd. Parents these days have no idea how to set limits with their children and I imagine if you give your kids access to the internet or a tablet it's very difficult to limit these things at all.

But who gives af if an adult wants to wear Billie Eilish perfume? That's not harmful.
