Fake Denim and Shutting Up were horrible. But don't get me wrong, the cover album will be horrible as well. Its kind of sad how far they've fallen, it really started to go downhill with Fanfare.

Fake denim and Shutting up were good! are they just standalone singles?

My thoughts exactly. rip The first songs by them I ever liked at all just to do… this

I am a Dorian fan but chile this ain't IT

Dorian Electra returns with a new album that reframes a set of iconic songs through a distinctly modern, shape shifting lens. Spanning decades and genres - from folk standards to early internet-era pop to club classics - the project isn't about nostalgia so much as reinterpretation.
Each track is pulled apart and rebuilt: familiar melodies placed in unfamiliar worlds, with production pushing the material into something sharper, stranger, and more personal.
What emerges is less a tribute and more a study in transformation - how songs live, evolve, and take on new meaning over time.

Featuring covers of "Mr. Tambourine Man," "Feel Good Inc.," "Young Folks," and more, the album captures a period of exploration and collaboration that ultimately led here: a project that bridges influence and identity, past and present.

Shutting up and Fake Denim are absolute bangers, weird, they wouldn't have followed upon that, but i'll def check this out, Mr. Tambourine Man sounded good.

I hope it's their pretour type of situation for the album that will include Shutting Up and Fake Denim

Well, this is interesting.

I really love the cover of Young Folks (so beautiful, can't stop listening) and Mr. Tambourine Man. Feel Good Inc. hasn't clicked with me yet.

I also enjoy the aesthetic and color palette for this era.

However, this is not what I was expecting at all. Like, AT ALL.

What were Fake Denim and Shutting Up for?

Why is their 4th album their self-titled?

Why self-title an album that only has covers? Extremely counterintuitive.

As blondeskinnyrich said above me, I really hope this is more of a lowkey release to get us ready for the real DE4 with original songs, including Fake Denim and Shutting Up.

I think that's not unlikely, seeing as there's barely any merch for this release and we are only getting a standard CD. The website and artist profiles on streaming platforms aren't even fully updated yet and still show Fanfare pictures here and there.

Very bizarre situation and I'm interested to see how it unfolds. Everything about this rollout feels lowkey and low-budget, and I don't mean this in a bad way - just that I feel there is more coming afterwards

Fake Denim and Shutting Up were horrible. rip But don't get me wrong, the cover album will be horrible as well.

Its kind of sad how far they've fallen, it really started to go downhill with Fanfare.

I wasn't crazy about Fanfare either, but would you mind explaining?

The overreactions in here for a cover album that a few hundred people will listen to. rip

Dorian is a C-list left-field hyperpopper, I don't think they really care how this impacts what I presume was their main album campaign lmao not like this is about charts anyway.

Re: the music itself, it's been fun! I've not been blown away by these covers but it's cool to see some classics dressed up in 2020s clothing (even if some of it sounds a mess)

What an album!!! I'm obsessed with Hips Don't Lie and ESPECIALLY Caribbean Blue.

The original songs no longer exist to me - this is exactly the way they should sound. Love how Dorian took the songs' energies and core feelings and cranked it all up to 11!

Hopefully they perform the whole thing on tour. Should happen since the album is relatively short!

And I'm not even mad we got a cover album. Since I didn't know most of these songs, it's like an original body of work to me anyway. Also, DE5 is already in the works!

Hella Good clap Oh Gweneviere Shelton, don't make that face...!

LOVE this

I wasn't excited for the cover album, but I actually really like the songs. Hips Don't Lie the bop that you are....

this is comically bad. oh Dorian the talent void you are.
