Let me start off by saying congratulations to T-Swizzle and Killatrav on their engagement. They seem happy and will make tall, famous children. But the lyrics to "The Fate of Ophelia" are really throwing me. Is this beautiful, successful, iconic, business-savy woman really celebrating that Travis "saved her" from loneliness? Really gurl? Is that the message she should be sending to her young female fans? In the TRUMP era? That a man fixes all your problems? It seems so regressive. WTF happened to the feminist girlboss Taylor of the 2010s?????  Let's look at some of the disturbing lyrics:

 

"I sat alone in my tower" WTF? Where are her friends/family/fans? And what's wrong w being alone... 

 

"You dug me out of my grave" So you're DEAD without a man? 

 

"Pledge allegiance to your hands, your team your vibes" Damn gurl, you're giving him ALL THAT? 

 

"And if you'd never come for me, I might've drowned in the melancholy" Basically she was scared of dying alone until he came along. Really inspiring stuff Taylor. 

 

Has she completely lost her mind? Or is it just bad writing? I'm starting to think she's losing touch with reality..

Yes.  I can already see conservative influencers and grifters like JD Vance, Candace Owens, and Ben Shapiro using lyrics from this album as an "I told you so" gotcha moment for the single, childless cat ladies.  It's actually kind of scary and sets women back even further.

but she had a valid reason to cause she wasn't getting picked by matty, meanwhile she got picked by killatrav and is boasting about it for some reason 

Reading threads like this one on ATRL sometimes makes me think there has got to be something wrong with some people on ATRL. Why can't people just be normal when talking about Taylor Swift? Or is there a trend of undiagnosed mental health issues amongst some ATRL users?

yes but you forgot the worst offender aka opalite where she brings up his ex saying that she was in for the money and the fame. like lady you're engaged and whining abt a girl you didn't even meet just bc she dated your man before you two even met? it doesn't get more pick me than that.

You know what I fully get her. She ended a 7 year relationship, her longest ever, for a man she thought maybe was meant to be the true love of her life (based on how intense the Tortured Peanuts lyrics are) and he goes and dumps her after a fortnight.mp3.

 

I too would lose my mind a bit and would feel extremely grateful if a hairy, mountain-sized men with a massive ******* came along.
