Drone is not a commercial music genre and she is too early in her career to have released a piece of work that is so self indulgent.

 

She should have used it as an opportunity to continue establishing herself as the sad Queen of Shoegaze, whilst Emma Anderson positions herself as the happy contrast.

 

Some people found the most recent Jessica Pratt album too happy and less introspective than her previous work.
 

Ethel had the opportunity of swallowing up Jessica fans who needed a dose of melancholy and Ethel simply didn't deliver either.

 

However, Ethel's new album is a textbook example in course correction.

She's too try-hard weird I think. Nothing about her is relatable, and the music is so dense and heavy - not enjoyable at all? Incest? Cannibalism? Perversion? No ty
