Growing up in Europe in the 90s meant that you were surrounded by anime. Those Ghibli shows in the early 90s and then Sailor Moon/One Piece/Detective Conan/Dragon Ball in the mid to late 90s. Later I was buying manga and anime magazines like Animania and I was a huge Hellsing and Neon Genesis Evangelion fan.

 

Nowadays I just watch Conan and One Piece. 

No, I just can't get into it...

I've watched every Studio Ghibli movie and am a big fan, I rewatch them regularly 

 

I also grew up with (if we count those) Pokémon, Digimon, Medabots, Shaman King, Oban, Dragon Ball Z, Flint the Time Detective, Yu Gi Oh, BDaman, Beyblade, Sailor Moon, Sonic X, etc

- like Daddy said if you grew up in the 90s/00s in Europe anime was literally everywhere

I've seen some Ghibli movies. My favorite among them is Princess Mononoke, probably because it reminded me of one of my most favorite animated films of all time, Ferngully.

For a more cutesy and lighthearted watch

- Kiki's Delivery Service

- My Neighbour Totoro

- Ponyo

- Pom Poko

- Only Yesterday

 

And then there's Grave of the Fireflies which is way more dark, it follows the lives of two siblings during the World War

Oh I've watched Howl and Spirited! Castle in the sky sounds interesting, might check it out; not sure about Porco Rosso tho.

 

I'm not watching Grave, I don't like angst and heavy drama films in general

Yes, Yuyu Hakusho is one of the best pieces of media ever. One piece is peak in terms of world building and storytelling in visual media. Code geass, Banana fish, Friren. Like if you're not watching anime I feel sorry for you.

It's a more mature story telling route than the typical fantasy anime and it doesn't rely too much on fanservice tropes as much as some of its peers in the genre.

It has no fan service at all. It's a pretty mature anime but expect some light shounen humour from some characters who get introduced later

 

The show is mostly episodic and an extremely slow burn. If you don't like it by episode three then you probably aren't going to like the rest

Is a very cute happy classic anime and everything is always goin well like pokemon, so i feel like is my disconnection to this sad and dark state of the world today
Sometimes u need some escape and this tv show is one my way to just forget about everything
im already in episode 21.   need to watch some new ones today

Been watching the original Ranma ½ with my bf. It's cute  We love Shampoo

Used to when I was younger, but not much these days. Can't stand shonen anymore and I prefer more slice of life stuff

 

I recommend Odd Taxi if you guys get the chance. Unique storyline with some mystery and dry humor sprinkled in 

Comedic and/or Romantic Slice of Life, primarily
