100% I agree with you. It just seems like compared to everyone else in the queer community bi people have the least awareness if that makes sense? The word biphobia is thrown around so much and it's particularly used in misogynistic and homophobic ways (always at women and queer men but cishet men are precluded from judgement basically) and used to dismiss any sort of valid discussion Like just two months ago bi men were calling straight women homophobic if they got turned down for not wanting to date someone if they're bi. But in turn when gay men in the past have called out the typical pattern of how bi men only seek out same-sex interactions for hook ups but exclude them from dating it's called biphobic and just ignored. There are analogous discussions within the gay community such as femmes vs mascs but no one's going like "you're femmephobic if you don't date me" to nearly the same extent tbh.

I agree but it just seems like I always see bi men or women talk about how poorly they're treated by gay men and women and straight women (straight men are rarely complained about by bi men for some reason) and it's not to deny any discrimination exists but it seems like there's just zero reflection from bi people often times A lesbian or gay man will talk about issues of how often times bi people will only use them for hook-ups but exclude them from dating options (basically chaser behaviour) but any critique of bi people just gets dismissed as biphobia even if it's valid. It's a bit exhausting.

This flattens the complexity of sexuality. Sexuality involves not only sex but also gender presentation, in which someone can be feminine, masculine, or both. It's really silly to think just because someone is gay they have to be into all types of men. Idk what straight women you're talking to but straight women aren't precluded from being homophobic (which the foundation of it is misogyny and hatred of femininity) and they heavily reinforce it via internalised misogyny. I'm androsexual so no. A guy has to be fairly masculine presenting for me to like him. In my mind with femme-presenting men I might as well just date masc-presenting women and it'd be x5 as better. Even if the woman was femme presenting it would still be substantially better for me Nothing wrong with them at all just not my types. I do notice a lot of gay guys try to almost force others to be into femme men which I think is both unnecessary and counterproductive. Attraction is inherently discriminatory and exclusionary and who you're attracted to shouldn't be treated like an equal employment opportunity situation.
