'how much it offers' is a varied bag tho, ive had a lot of messed up experiences and seen messed up things bc of easy access to internet  so its not like you can say concretely that you're paying for something that improves your life. i mean most days i hate how addicted i am to it.

 

also its still very capitalistic it just works as a funnel instead. internet brings you to amazon, to gambling sites, to delivery services  the internet is kinda the foundation for a lot of modern day capitalism

 

 

Not when they're stealing your data, watching, listening and recording everything you do on your devices to target you with ads and predictive programming. Yes, the internet is cheap but that doesn't mean it doesn't come with a steeper cost. Just look at the countless studies done on how social media negatively impacts people's mental health. This **** isn't free or easy, it's a lot of psychological warfare happening on the internet these days.

The internet is capitalistic if the user wants it to be capitalistic. The user has to go to Amazon. The user has to visit gambling sites. The user  has to enter in their credit card information to purchase items.

I mean, you are a product of the internet, not the other way around. 
 

businesses make millions of dollars off of you using it, so it is actually the most capitalist thing. 
 

I would agree that back in the early days it was the least. It suddenly opened us up to incredible free experiences and education without being monetised.

 

Then came ads.

 

Then came cookies. 
 

Then came data. 

No, in my country it's water. Legally it has to be served free anywhere you go.

It's more like $70-80

So that's $100 for internet + grindr, unless you're borrowing wifi from starbucks in which case you'd have spend money for the espresso, travel and uber, and that's before the actual hookup. They get you somehow. 

No. It used to be but it is no longer the case where everything is monetised
