Well the label wanted it out and Cardi didn't but the song was already going viral.

 

It's great that it's solo because she can release features for the rest of the era and it still has a solo top 10.

 

That said, I could see either or

 

Solo Outside

Solo next single 

then future singles with features

 

Solo Outside 

Big feature next single 

future singles with features.

 

It will eventually go platinum so she will be good to go with the radio hit, sales etc..

 

I have a feeling the rest of her singles are going to sound different than Outside which is probably why she didn't want it to lead the new era.

It's not my favorite Cardi song so I'm not really pressed about it but I can't believe they really just dropped this and dipped

They're doing a radio push so they haven't exactly dipped but this really needs a video. And it's not entirely too late tbh

 

It looks like it'll hit top 3 on rhythmic and then go to #2 for a few weeks before hitting #1

Same for urban except it's already top 3 and it'll go to #2 for a few weeks before hitting #1

So my original prediction of mid to late August reaching #1 on both formats is somewhat close.

 

Hmm...maybe she'll perform it as the wrestling event but other than that I'm sure the next song is reserved for the VMAs in early September.

I'd love it for August 1st since she's doing that wrestling event that weekend but it kind of makes sense as its two months after Outside and one month before the album release.

 

Listening to her rants and rambles on live I think the next song will be solo as well because I think any releases post album release wll be determined by steeams which will weigh more on her features if they bring a new base.

 

Outside shouod go platinum in the end.

 

I wonder if she does a medley with Outside wap up and a new song at the vmas.

 

Rumor has it Mariah is getting a global impact award and Miley is getting the vanguard.

Tbh, aside from the early viral-ness and the heavy airplay, this kinda didn't pop as much as I thought. It's around the top 100 on Apple Music, which is just ok, but Spotify's terrible, it's #9 on her page. "Enough" was doing better. A video could have completely brought it to life

 

Anyway, this has brought back her momentum and I think the real big hit might come with the album, or slightly before the album. But this deserved better.

Well, to be honest, Cardi didn't even want this song released, the moment it went viral her and her team should have had a video locked and ready to go. I think this song going Top 10 on the Hot 100 alone speaks to the volume that Cardi still has a good strong fanbase that can get her there with NO major promo or video.
