Should Gwen Stefani be held accountable?

Featured Replies

For appropriating cultures and genres when years later we learned it wasn't sincere or authentic?

apologize to who? she would need to apologize to damn near every culture in existence :rip:

Judging by the state of her career and her recurrent stats, she's already been punished.

Isn't her career dying and name being tied to racism with everybody under the age of 40 already the accountability in question? :thing:

well look where it got her, married to a fat ugly racist conservative weirdo that's ruining anything that's left of her career.

something something karma, something something truth, ultimate, whatever

The time I felt she really crossed a line was "I'd get me four Harakjuku girls to inspire me and they'd come to my rescue / I'd dress them wicked / I'd give them names."

Asian Americans who were outraged at the time had their voices shot down by native Asians because that latter group lacked the full context.

It absolutely ruined the song.

She gets to wake up to Blake Shelton's face, I think she's paying the price already.

Apologize for what exactly, nobody died as far as im concerned

Lyrically one of Gwen's worst songs. WYWF is the superior song. I didn't think the wicked part was bad but yeah, the names.... :deadbanana:

Allllll of this.

She should apologise for doing that AND THEN turning around and becoming a Trump supporting homophobic transphobic xenophobic racist rat

no. she has always been honest about who she is. she will stand by her "my asian girl friends say it's okay" & "I'm japanese by osmosis" statements forever and we just have to decide if we want to listen to her music. she knows what people say. 🙉
