The first mistake you made was letting him come to your home so easily. This should be earned along with cuddling with a complete stranger! ย  Guys will go with the flow yet will be judging y

Step 1) Recognize that young men are emotionally unavailable and fickle and will be into you one moment and completely oblivious the next. It's not you it truly is the nature of our dating culture today.

ย

Step 2) Your feelings are absolutely valid, but I'd also take into account you may be more emotionally mature and sensible than this person. You can either continue to voice your feelings and displeasure with his disinterest or you can walk away with your head held high knowing you did nothing wrong and move on.

There's always someone hotter and better that comes afterwards. The sting is always there, to some degree, but I don't let it bother me. It speaks to the kind of person they actually are and what they value; and they're generally people who, low-key, have some type of issue that you wouldn't want to deal with anyway. :celestial3:

I get ghosted on a daily basis, I also ghost on a daily basis. It's just the way it is. Awful, but true.

Move on.

He was only looking for quick sex :suburban:

Not all guys you meet on dating app want more than sex :suburban:

Girlll, that's normal on dating apps. I think all of us who's used one have done both (ghosting and being ghosted). You have to move on, there are plenty of other guys out there.

ย

Just have fun and don't take these apps too serious, especially after meeting someone for the first time (even after a few times... coz gay guys are so fickle). x

It's a right of passage, welcome to gay life! You'll be fine I promise you and eventually you won't give a damn.ย

100% so. Being able to overcome those feelings is nearly as good as being in actually relationship. It gets better, you'll remain happy regardless of the outcome. Single or not.

It's happens to all of us, you'll get over it. I once met a guy for a date and we met outside the restaurant and as soon as he saw me, he made an excuse to leave then walked away, I felt so ugly and was confused because I looked the same as my pictures

But is it ghosting if you haven't met at least 1 time?

Welcome to being gay

Yeah this. It's just a part of online dating/hook up culture sadly.

On paper it is, but realistically it's completely irrelevantย

I read that you were 20 and stopped reading.

Baby gay, there is nothing to get over. I know that it might be sitting a little heavy on your heart right now but you'll be over it before you even know it. And you don't have to do anything specific for that. Just let time do its thing.

you'll get over it and hopefully this experience will teach you to be more pragmatic and realistic about dating. we were all 20 once and these are formative experiences, but don't let them get you down. if he were such a perfect match for you as you describe he wouldn't have ghosted.ย

ย

messaging someone who ghosted you is pointless, the only person who can give you closure is yourself.ย

All you can do is wait and eventually move on. It's going to suck. But a lot of this comes down to experience. I (now in my 30s), more often than not, go on dates and hope never to hear from the guy again because I'm usually so disinterested and if guys are too clingy I am immediately turned off. But, younger me would not have felt like that at all. When you're younger and it's newer, every interaction with a guy is so exciting. Enjoy it for what's worth, even when it sucks, because those feelings do change with time.

Thank you all for taking the time to read the thread and replying to it. I guess this is true, me being a novice at this is probably what is causing me to be so overtly wistful about this. I may have some attachment issues too, but the inexperience certainly doesn't help.

ย

In other news, I had another guy over yesterday and things went much nicer and we're seeing each other again this Saturday so hopefully things work out with him haha.

I feel the same often too, which is why I always let people know I look worse irl just so they adjust their expectations.
