Mother is from ******* Pennsylvania, which is not a place where people speak with that accent. There are stories from kids at her middle school of her practicing the accent at lunch in preparation of her move, so she could blend in and seem more country to all the industry people she was hoping to meet. I assume she did it often enough that it became natural, but the minute she didn't need the accent to boost her career she dropped it real quick

I have still never listened to that remix. Idk why anyone would. Lover is a great song and certainly needs no feature and even less from Shawn
