Do we actually think she could move the release date earlier because of the leak?

that would be stupid

It is just all so unfortunate. I feel like this entire era has been Kesha having the rug pulled from under her.

i mean dua lipa basically did the same thing and that leaked way less in advance.

people are actually so slow on here - obsessed with chart potential for artists that peaked a decade ago. Kesha will be making music until the day she dies because she loves it, clearly. Artists who plan their every move to get the highest numbers / game the system are losers imo. Let her sell her 5k copies and enjoy the music!

Dua was also a streaming artist with an active hit when she rush released the album and a team capable of adjusting to a quick change. It was also during the pandemic when stuff like that was more possible. Majority of Kesha's first week sales will come from physical units. She's in the middle of planning and making a tour and probably has so much stuff lined up that she can't just move the date up that simple.

She planned the album release around 'independence day' because that means something to her. That is her artistry.

"can confirm" because you're in the know or "can confirm" because you saw someone on leaked.cx vaguely suggesting this?

I can confirm because I've been listening to the demo for months, checked the specs, and I know it was edited with a verse from the final version. No one suggested this, I sourced the information solely from my own observations and what I've heard.

well if it means that much then she needs to get better security idk what to tell you

The actual smart thing to do is to add more songs to the digital version and keep the release date as is. This will at least create an incentive to stream the album on the 4th.

Agreed 100%

having digested the album now it could definitely do with a few extra tracks anyway

How does something like this happen? From what I'm reading here it seems like people have had the tracks for months, at least the demos… Did the producers share it, someone from her team maybe to get feedback?

I think anyone in the music industry should have tighter security in general and everything should be stored offline. It's 2025 idk why that isn't common sense by now.

Anyways going to fight the urge to not listen and wait to experience everything when I get my vinyl on the 4th. I feel so bad for her and her team :( especially now that she's independent this must string extra hard

I wonder this as well. I also wonder how all these insiders here get so much info.

I think she was either hacked or someone on her team sent it to the wrong person and it just snowballed from there.

Real. Just hate that some of her fans would sabotage her like this—regardless of whether or not this was leaked by them, it's clear that there's been insider trading going on from the last few pages (I'm not on stan twitter or Discord so idk what's going on there either)

Yeah it is super icky to buy and trade songs. Especially now that she is free, because that means she can release anything she wants and that could potentially foil any plans she has. Every artist should have the right to release their music into the world the way they want to.

I know that movie screeners have watermarks on them so if they leak they know exactly from whom (or who was compromised) - so working versions/etc that are sent around should have that same meta data or something in them so they can figure it out.

From what I read they're from DSPs

Leaks don't have that much of an impact these days, IMO. I think she'll be fine! It's just a few hundred people that will actually try hard to hunt it down.

Did the whole album leak or just some songs?
