i was trying to rank her albums then i realized that so many of her albums reflected my life at the time of their release

 

rainbow was the first album that ever spoke to me, and it helped me a lot when it was released 

 

gag order came out during the worst time of my life when i was going through some health issues and i genuinely felt like i was gonna die  and a lot of the songs on the album were exactly how i felt even tho it was for different reasons

 

and recently i started to get my **** back together and made a big progress in my healing journey both physically and mentally which is kinda like "." 
 

my ranking atm is:

1. Rainbow

2. Gag Order

3. .

4. Animal

5. Warrior

6. High Road

 

even tho i don't listen to rainbow and gag order that much currently because both bring back memories i would like to leave in the past

I had the same issue. Fixed it by playing TRASHMAN. in the browser & opening desktop app simultaneously

Warrior holds a lot of nostalgia for me. But listening back to it, I can really tell the lack of direction of the album. It has some nice bops but most of them just feel overproduced and lack deepness. You can tell she wanted to write more meaningful lyrics back then but was not allowed to. Like the original Love Into The Light on the piano just hits more strongly. I'll also never get over that hideous cover 

The Monica Lewinsky podcast is great, it's a must listen. She explained how Gag Order's floppage basically led to RCA dropping her.

I thought she actually fulfilled her contract with Gag Order as they counted Cannibal as a individual project?

We all thought so but apparently not. She explained how she got a phone call basically telling her that won't fund another album.

Interesting. That album was really a blessing in disguise in the end. What felt like defeat at first really set her free. Otherwise she would've owed . to Dr. Luke.

Pretty sure she meant that they didn't want to re-sign Kesha after the contract expired. Gag Order was definitely her last album anyways.

She said they did not want to go through another 'option' which basically means it's in the same contract. I don't think she would have said that she got her freedom if it was a contract she was renewing willingly.

Yeah, but the RCA contract is pretty unambiguous that it consists of five albums (first option period + four renewals option with one album each). If they had offered to re-sign her, she could have said: "No, I'm not interested". But this way, RCA probably was first to tell her they weren't interested in her.

It's weird that she wanted to stay in this contract. She said she got the phone call back in December 2023, so she was basically already making a version of . at this point and had moved to Crush. 

 

I'm still convinced there is a second amendment to her contract that we haven't seen (in 2016 post discovery) that extended the options in exchange of no Luke creative involvement. I just don't see why she would have submitted an option request like she said for it to be refused in the first place.
