Red Flag is really cool! what a great chorus and switch up, immediately added to my gym playlist

Delusional, The One, and YKY weaken this project a bit for me on first listen. Everything else is 10s across the board for me so far! Minus those songs these songs all fit together well. I'm shocked at how good Red Flag is, I need a few more listens to let this settle in but wow. I am interested about how Pitchfork will review this though.

Glow is giving demo Kesha or leaked song vibes in the best possible way, I'm obsessed..

 

Boy Crazy is the standout track still for me though after all this time, she really captured her early unreleased Kesha energy perfectly (way better than even Joyride imo), crazy detailed instrumental, high BPM and the energy is just there.. she truly cannot beat that.. I'm so glad we live in this timeline sksk

Too Hard sounds like it samples that disco song that's like "alright! alllllriiight" in the verses lol 

Cathedral is quite beautiful! it's probably her best closer since Spaceship

So... never been a Kesha fan, this is her first album of hers I ever listened to in its entirery. Shocked pleasantly, she delivers!

so my first thoughts after my first listen

I love it! I mean honestly Kesha can never truly go wrong for me, but I definitely think this project is super special. instead of doubling down on the art pop vibes of Gag Order, she kinda threw us for a loop and gave us pure pop once again. the runtime is probably my biggest critique after my first listen, cause I think Bop It and Oh My God could've fit on here as well. like I said before, this feels like the most fun Kesha has ever had on a singular album (keeping in mind what she was going through with he who shall not be named for the first part of her career. if that had never happened, then I'd still say that this sounds like the most fun she's had on an album since Warrior). I think that this is the best kind of fan-service: really leaning into her party pop roots, still being authentically her, and also embracing some of her stylings in her unreleased discography to really make this unique kind of pop bible! favs on first listen were Freedom, Red Flag, Glow, and Cathedral, and of course I also love The One and Boy Crazy  I hope Kesha continues to never limit herself because I think this fits perfectly alongside albums like Animal and Rainbow! but anyway yeah I can't wait to keep this on repeat for the rest of the year like I do everytime Kesha releases anything lol

 

there's such a great element of nostalgia to Delusional, Red Flag, and The One! I think this—similar to the lens a few reviews y'all posted earlier looked through—does feel like what she was trying to do with High Road, but actually genuinely going with those carefree emotions. High Road, like I've said elsewhere, is a dark album with how it's striving towards escapism but isn't truly representative of happiness throughout it. this, on the other hand, is rather happy and is all the better for it 

This feels like what she was trying to do with High Road with all of the genre and vibe shifts but couldn't quite get there, but she totally pulled it off this time. 
 

I was a little worried with some of the singles but I actually think this could sit next to Warrior as my favorite from her. This is just pure fun and I hope it can do some numbers this summer. 
 

The disco-ey tracks like Freedom and Love Forever are my favorites rn

this is sooo real, it's giving Save Me or Strange Love sort of cool sexy bop  it's gorgeous!

I love the progressive effects that pop in in the middle of Cathedral  very The Altar and III era Banks of her in the same way Peace & Quiet also felt!

To put it easy. This is the crazy party Kesha with the reflective and mature moments sprinkled in that High Road and it's toaster made mixing wanted to be  contrasts well with Gag Order as follow up.

So there's this SOTY called Freedom...

I liked your post then I erased it when I read the 2nd line.

I really expected to wake up to this number 1 on iTunes, I really had hoped she'd put a deluxe to help with streaming. Just thankful we got new music.
