  • I need to admit that she and her team are playing it so smart. At first I was thinking that they are wasting Jennie's potential, because they didn't push anything other than releasing a few tik toks h

  • only a handful of good songs here, Like Jennie would be getting dragged if it were a Blackpink comeback, it definitely sounds like a bad (but fun) YG song nnn

  • 3M less than Gaga (who has DWAS). She served a HIT album

like JENNIE and Filter are both chops i'm sorry both drags the album. without these 2 the album would be even stronger

Just finished the whole album. Simply amazing, cohesive and very polished-produced album. EVERY tracks hits in a different way.

My top 3:

1. with the IE

2. Seoul City

3. Damn Right

Honrable mentions to Zen and Love Hangover :katie2:

where's Columbia's fraudulence!!!! we need the streaming farms for Handlebars :sabrina:

Like- BP is this 🤏 close to have their own Supernova if Dem Joinz produced their comeback single :jonny:

Maybe Jennie is testing the water by working with him in this album

to be fair

Supernova was inspired by Teddy's DDU DU DDU DU but that was the old Teddy back before his obsession with minimalist sounds

In terms of her solo version audios:

-Handlebars is SO short my god, Dua really elevated this song, don't think i'll be listening to the solo version of this song

-Love Hangover is actually good??  Cute little slow rap moment, the Dominic Fike one wasn't that interesting anyways so will replace it with this solo one

-ExtraL sounds so DIFFERENT :deadvision: the whole production, these lyrics, the delivery, it's like a whole new song nnn it's not bad but again this sounds like a demo vs the Doechii one

-Damn Right is great, even the solo version she ate it uppp with that extra verse :jonnycat:

ooh i was gonna see if i can get the Target edition CD tomorrow anyway but this made me need it :jonnycat:

i did order the Japan exclusive artwork CD yesterday though so idk if thats the same Jennie Only album or not lol CDJapan didnt list the tracks

Finally had the time to hear the album as i was too focused on Mayhem... and the album is great! I think it's very aligned with what she likes to hear irl and it's full of personality. I think it's the best body of work by a Pink soloist so far, even though Alter Ego might be my personal fave (but i'm well aware it's not objectively the best album). It's cohesive, well written, the features doesn't outshine her and the lyrics make sense for her public persona without being too tryhard, cringe or too sentimental for little girls. I just could tell this album is hers, the lyrics were written by/with/for her exclusively, you can tell she was 100% involved with how this album would sound and how much it would represent her.

She totally messed up with the singles order though. Mantra is cute but doesn't really stands out; so much that out of the girls' lead singles this one was the least interesting for me and i barely revisited. It doesn't bring anything unique or new to the table and kinda came and went. ZEN was released as a promo single on her YT but i think it would work more as an intro to the album only - the video although cute just looks like a random Pinterest moodboard. I remember people dragging this on Twitter and they're right :celestial5: i still couldn't tell who Jennie is as a solo artist.

Love Hangover was the 1st step in the right direction. I was still confused on which direction she wanted to take, this one set the mood. I don't think it would be a better lead than Mantra, but it would work as the 3rd after two stronger choices. ExtraL was the best single and the best choice. NOW we saw Jennie, her personality, a major bop, she shines all the way through this and we even have Doechii who keeps getting bigger in the mainstream. A perfect recipe and that's why it was so well received by everyone.

I do think that With the IE should've been the lead - It's a nice solo introduction, catchy, full of attitude, with a well known sample and she could've had some celebs in the vid, including JLo herself. It would cause an impression and a lasting impact better than Mantra. This one is Jennie in her element, talking her ****, showing where she wants to take us with this album. Then ExtraL as the second, Love Hangover as the 3rd, Like Jennie as a promo rather than ZEN, Handlebars as the 4th single along with the album release - she should've included ZEN as the intro cause i think it would work better.

The tracklisting order is a bit messy but we got the message and we can change that ourselves, so who cares?

Sorry for the essay i just wanted to discuss a bit how i felt about the album. And i love it :clap3:

Is it just me or Dua sings the most on Handlebars? :deadbanana2:

yes, jennie doesn't have writing credits for handlebars.  I think its Dua's original song and jennie just wanted to keep dua cause she sounds so good

Oh love hangover the sadbop vibe that you are

Whoever forced Dominic into the song will be coughing sooner rather than later.

Way to *** up an immaculate song!

Yeah this album is that type of nighttime album you'd rather listen in full and in order than picking out singles and mixing them on your playlists.

I get it!

Is it a Jenny from the block beat sample? Or is that itself also sampled from something else?

How's the solo version? This one's perfect already.

the solo versions are all good, but the features add that little something extra

the solo features are all good except extraL tbh

extraL solo sounds like a demo

I actually think all the features are a nice edition to the songs compared to the solo versions which is a big compliment :clap3:

she did really well with this album on all fronts
