I genuinely do not understand why she hasn't returned to that soft-rock sound considering it's still pretty trendy with acts like Olivia Rodrigo and songs like Hot To Go gaining traction. In that clip of Katy picking between her hits she literally picked I Kissed A Girl over her other poppier tracks, like where was that energy in the studio 

I like the song, not her best but not so bad that people say and the press. And i dont care if she worked with Dr Luke. Its her choice.

I think she & her team most likely see it as a very outdated sound that's just not worth revisiting  And to be fair it's kinda true, but it's the genre where she shines the most imo. OOTB forever!

Her best songs are TOY and Uncle actually.
