This song just turned 8 years this month.

I wanted to make an appreciation thread because it truly showcases Kesha's raw talent, and also her tenacity as a person who went throught physical and psychological abuse. 

So this was Kesha standing up against her abuser and turning her trauma into an art piece, both through the song and the video. 

A woman who recently got freed from an abusive contract in an industry that is still very corrupt and mysoginistic. 

 

It was also nominated for a Grammy back in 2017. 

 

So go stream Praying by Kesha (And also go stream Joyride )

It still gives me goosebumps! And Cathedral is just as beautiful.

i was listening to the demo of it today at work and it really is such a raw and emotional song

that high note existing even when people say she "cant sing"

The best comeback in pop music history and im not exaggerating. This was THE song for her return to the music scene, it's just perfect.

I remember when I first heard this song and was floored. I was not a big fan of Kesha's music before but I did like this song. It showcased a new side of her.

I'll always hate the Grammy committee for awarding whatever Ed Sheeran put out instead of THIS career defining and pop culture moment.
